European super league

Terrible and is basically a way to completely destroy emerging competition. The reward of European football should be based solely on merit and not brand recognition.

I'm pretty annoyed that our club, allegedly, are backing this and maintaining the ridiculous prices of away tickets.

I'm surprised City are tbh. It's not that long ago the rags/arse/dippers etc tried their hardest to keep us out, and I'm sure having us involved will have been a bitter pill for the rags to swallow. Not sure I'm comfortable with the club getting into bed with the very same cunts who tried to fuck us over and stop us from ever reaching Europe in the first place.
 
I go to every game i can afford to but i'd have no interest whatsoever in attending a game if we were in this league. I'd like to think others would have a similar mindset and stay away too which is the only way us fans can show our displeasure towards something like this happening but i suspect the vast majority of glory hunting fans of all clubs would lap it up.

Why do 11th placed Liverpool get an invitation but 1st placed Leicester and second placed Spurs don't?
 
Would a European super league replace the Champion's League for us or the Premier League?

It sounds like an absolutely crap idea either way but you can't blame City for wanting a slice of the pie rather than being left behind.
 
Unfortunately, I think it'll happen for the simple reason that people WILL watch. Who watches Champions League for Malmo, Shaktar or Leicester? People want to see us, Barca, Real, Bayern, Rags, Arsenal etc. I think the Italian clubs especially would jump at this. Inter and Milan desperately need to become relevant in Europe again.

The problem is that is basically closes the door on the elite forever and ensures that the Spurs, Leicesters, Romas, Fiorentinas, Valencias and Sevillas can never get to that level. And that is disgraceful and against the essence of football

I wouldn't ever go that far but it would leave a bad taste in my mouth.

I think if this were to ever happen, all fans of football should unite and protest against it. There's no justification for it.

We might not have a choice. If the big clubs go to this competition and we don't, our brand will tank.
