European super league

I'm surprised City are tbh. It's not that long ago the rags/arse/dippers etc tried their hardest to keep us out, and I'm sure having us involved will have been a bitter pill for the rags to swallow. Not sure I'm comfortable with the club getting into bed with the very same cunts who tried to fuck us over and stop us from ever reaching Europe in the first place.

We'd be fools not to be in the room to get the lay of the land. Doesn't mean we'll be part of it happening, just wanting to see what's going on.

If this actually looks like happening there is not a chance in hell our owners would want us on the outside looking in. They want to be part of the elite, they want to City to be amongst the biggest in the world.
I would lose all interest in European football if it became a closed shop. It's already skewed too much in favour of the established elite. Making it a closed shop would be unforgivable and I certainly won't be watching it.

This just looks like a ploy to get the wildcards introduced to me.
you know the old "if you don't introduce wildcards then there will be a breakaway competition" bullshit.
Surprised we're falling for it.

that photo looks dodgy to me as well, has it been photoshopped?

You can't expect City not to be involved in talks. We're the most successful club over the last 5 years there's no way the other clubs would leave us out and there's no way we'd decline an invitation. You'd hope we'd be against it and hope they'd be enough clubs willing to say no to it but if this was even remotely close to actually happening City can't and won't go against the grain even if they wanted to and i say if because we can't pretend City are football saints if the rumours of us voting against an away ticket cap are to believed.

We don't actually know the real purpose of the meeting if indeed a 'meeting' (with a formal agenda) took place, let alone what each club's stance would be, but as a matter of principle, we despised the likes of United, Arsenal and Liverpool trying to bully their way to dominance. It would be a tragedy if we followed suit. I think I'd rather go back to how things were than subscribe to a self appointed super league.

But until we have more details / facts - we shouldn't assume too much.

This is inevitable in time I think. Far too much money up for grabs for club owners to say no. But I agree it would be the death of football.

I hope we're involved just to scupper it.

I'd be done with the game if clubs were guaranteed shit like this

Like other people I would turn my back against this. I think it sounds great on paper to them but it won't be so great when your team is finishing last every year unable to compete.

If teams do not qualify on merit then I hope the football fans shun it. Obviously rags and dippers will lap it up as they think they have a right to be there because 650 million morons worldwide have their sad lives attached to their results. The rest will hopefully say enough is enough. I will do my part by not paying for it in my pub and if enough people do likewise it will not get off the ground. This would be the end of football for me.
