Europe's biggest teams will be given safety net to play in Champions League

Where is there a description of what's proposed? i cant access that article originally posted....
"UEFA champions league safety net" brings up a few results.

from the article

Controversially, three additional places would be allocated via UEFA’s co-efficient rankings which are based on past European performances. This could mean up to six Premier League teams qualifying for the Champions League in a single year, provided the two who finish outside the top four have finished fifth or sixth.
Why would UEFA offer that?
UEFA hopes providing this ‘safety net’ to Europe’s biggest clubs will help head off the threat of a breakaway European Super League.

It just shows that any notion of this being a sport is complete nonsense. People who don't think a select few don't already get massive assistance in some shape or form is deluded. How shit are the rags if they get all this help off refs & var and they still can't qualify and need automatic inclusion to the CL.

The PL should bin them off and tell them to go and play in their euro super league. Let's see how many people want to watch that compared to the PL.
There will be millions of European fans who think its all bollocks as well as us. The BMG fans who came over for the rained off match despise Bayern for getting involved in this sort of shite.

How about if the present rags can't finish in the top 4, then the "Crass of 92" suits up for the group stages with old bacon face at the wheel. That should satisfy everyone. I'd love to see giggsy up against Ruben Dias or Ole up for a header on a set piece against Laporte.

Hmmm, maybe im reading it wrong...or missing something

This is how the article begins before paywall kicks in

Europe’s biggest teams will be given a safety net to play in the Champions League even if they fail to finish in the top four of their domestic competitions under Uefa plans revealed to Premier League clubs yesterday.

Under the proposal, which provoked anger from some top-flight clubs, three Champions League places would be allocated via Uefa’s coefficient, based on historical performances in Europe.

Yeah saw that...just reads a bit sensationalist, i just cant find a decent explanation of whats proposed....so reserving judgement until then.

Regardless, UEFA are still dicks and ive no interest in euro football anyway

As much as I’d like City to be included, I still think this is a shit idea from UEFA. What’s the point of clubs like Napoli, Leicester, PSV, etc even trying if they know they’ll never be included? Football would just end up with about 20 ‘super clubs’ (including us) and the rest would end up like Stockport or Barrow.

They will kill the Golden Goose

The new rag business plan?

Were shit but at least finish 7th to get knocked out of Europe by the German version of West Ham.
