Ever seen a City non-derby game played at Old Trafford?

Here goes. As well as Bury 85:
Luton L cup 2nd replay 1977
Walsall 2nd replay L C 1973
Halifax town FA cup 2nd replay 1924

Don't think I've missed any but you never know.

From memory City had all scoreboard end and part of main stand while Bury had rest of main stand and maybe Stretford End. Can't remember Utd Road being open. There were some photos in the 2nd leg prog and again from memory they basically show empty seats in the background with busy-ish paddocks.

Gary...I think youve overlooked City V Streymour at Oakwell!! Does that count!!

No - that's not at Old Trafford!

If we're doing "neutral" grounds there would be loads. TNS at Cardiff springs to mind.

The Luton cup game i went to the game at Kennelworth Road which ended 1-1
I remember entering the ground thru a row of houses... Bizzare.
The Bury game at the swamp Bury had the stretford end that night and im sure it was mostly made up of rags than Bury fans.

After neutral venues I went to Millwall on a Tuesday in FA Cup replay, i think 1990.
We drew 1v1 and they tossed whilst we were still locked in.
Went back there 6 days later at Old Den, Monday night, lost 3v1.
Didnt see any trouble . Maybe cause there were loads of police with dogs on the away car park and an escort toElephant and Castle.

Has anyone out there seen City play someone who isn't United at Old Trafford?

I know it has happened quite a few times but I only remember one: we drew Bury away in one of the very early rounds of the League/CArling/Rumbelows/whatever it was at the time cup. Bury couldn't cope with the invasion so the game was played at Old Trafford. I don't remember much apart from that we won (1-0?) and I seem to remember the crowd being around 11,000. That was of course a typical crowd for that stage of the cup. At a guess I'd say this was about 1986.

Was anyone there? Did they open all the stands or just some? And can anyone remember any other games where Old Trafford was used?
V Luton 3rd round replay league cup only about 18.000 there

But if we were doing grounds where City were the home team... (and so excluding all those neutral 2nd replays....)
Are there any others apart from Oakwell (I was there)

This thread is one of the things I like about Bluemoon, it's informative and interesting. I'm claiming to be a Blue since the 60s but I've absolutely no memories of these games. That's probably because I was an active footballer and referee at the time and only got to some games during much of the 70s. Also bringing up a young family at the time so money probably came into it.

Was at the Luton 2nd replay at TTOS. We had the Stretford end and I think the main stand. I still have the ticket from Stretford end, I remember it going into extra time and Tueart scored the winner. Paul Futchers performance in all three games got a move to City in the summer.
