The difference between the two games is that one was a friendly against a much lower quality side, and the other was a competetive league match between two sides in the same division.
Also, for the second match, there was goal average/difference at stake in addition to the result.

i would imagine it's a deal that includes compensation to watford as part of the deal. looks like haven't learned from last year re signings-mental for sure but the market is grossly inflated as usual
