Well said.Nothing to do with the “rules as they now stand are foolish” narrative either. The rules are foolish, by the way, if they mean that a ball can brush any part of your arm with your back half-turned and the ball not even be significantly altered in its trajectory and a penalty is given — but that's not the issue here. That penalty was blocked by an upraised arm that had no business being there. It's a penalty in any version of the game that I've followed in more than fifty years. Story. End of.
