Everton (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Just watched MoTD, who was the man with the tash sat next to Guardiola on the bench? It didn’t show Lillo sat next to him.

Against an improved Everton we won 2-0?
Spot on

Turn in that performance against Everton in a title run in and It's a professional performance of champions.

The Dippers have been playing like that since Christmas, and have had the officials and decisions on side.

I know they hit the post from a corner and a couple of reactionary saves from Ortega but I was never thinking they were going to score.

Some of our players were lucky to stay on for so long because they were poor but got better towards the end of the game.
I suppose Pep didn't have a bench he trusted and, whilst It's no score he has no reason to change it.

A bloody good win today, our challengers for CL places will be gutted we won.

Good 3 points that we desperately needed, we do look lost 80% of the time though and it’s a hard watch, we can’t go into games with KDB, Gundogan & Silva all on the pitch at the same time it’s just giving away too much control.
Hoping for a result on Tuesday, definitely need lucky socks, boxers, hat, shoes, routine or whatever else is needed to get us through the rest of this season ;-)

Massive massive win away to a side bang in form. Shift in mentality following palace??

Villa is going to be a massive challenge but today is the first proper impressive away win of the season imo.

Don't call it a comeback!!

Great result against an improved but limited team. The first 75 minutes were pedestrian but the subs worked and the boy Nico O did it again. Kova plays at the right tempo.

Agree with the way we exhausted them . 68% possession to their 32%.664 passes to their 316. We did tire them out just like we did to Palace last week. I dont think Villa will give us that amount of possession on Tuesday.
I don’t think possession means anything if the other team deliberately give up possession. Especially this season’s city have been vulnerable when in high possession percentage, and actually won comfortably in a few games with low possession rate.
In the 0:4 loss to Spurs City’s procession was 58 against 42, in the 5:1 loss to Arsenal game City’s possession is 55 vs 45.

Something needs to be done about the unforced passing error epidemic that is sweeping the team.
So many attacks are breaking down because of under/over hit passes and aimless passes behind the player.
Lose momentum and concede counters.
It is criminal.

And, by fuck, we are gonna need at least two players who can drive momentum forward. We will lose Kev and we didn't replace Silva (I thought Phil would fill those shoes, but it's looking dodgy right now).

Our teams success ran on a powerful Rodri and a sublime Kev. The Kev position we just HAVE to get right.

Because the MUEN never reports anything positive about City, unless the win a big trophy. Just look back at this week’s reports.
We all know why the Muen hate us so much it's because of the group of papers they are owned by. Ignore them as well.

That's where the likes of Phil need to step up again, like he did last season.

I'm not expecting anyone to get as many assists as Kev, we're talking about the best in PL history really...

However we need creative players that can all chip in with a decent amount of assists

And we need our attacking players like Phil to be a consistent goal threat, like last season.

Forget getting a like for like to replace prime Kev, not happening, now it has to be more of a collective where multiple players are capable of a respectable amount of assists and goals

And then I woke up to find it was 2-0. Seriously.

Two dull sides.. If ever confirmation was needed of our need for 5 or 6 new players, this was it.

I'll have to catch the goals on MOTD.
AlL about results at this stage and yesterday was a huge win.

Failure to qualify for the CL would be a disaster for the club and for me would set us back years.

We have to attract elite players this summer and if we can't give them CL then they simply won't consider us.

At least Kev showed last week was the anomaly and we are correct to not give him a new deal.

Plus I think I’ll cry the next time I see Bernie picked to play on the wing.

Fantastic 3 points though, and the last 20 minutes was great once Kova and Jez were on the pitch.

Dreadful game, nearly left at half time. Glad I stayed for the celebrations.
Kev tries so hard but it really isn't there anymore. Thought Gundogan and Bernardo played ok. Gvardiol is really good but just not a fullback, I'm so happy that little experiment has finished. Pleased for O'Reilly getting a goal.
