Everton (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

All about results and digging them out however we can. Team is not the best we have seen. It is what it is and until we get to the summer we need to back what we have and keep pushing. I shall enjoy the ride as it’s been a whole lot worse than 4th and an FA cup semi final. Next season we will rebuild and go again. Not like we have blown our stash on a side that’s getting relegated.

Gotta be honest I wasn’t confident before the game,
The chosen one has got the blue dippers ticking over nicely added to their heavy handed game against our lightweights
And thought we walk away with a point
Obviously pep know what he’s doing with the squad he has available.
Nico is a star in the making gvardiol superb
Kova looking to go forward etc
All in all a badly needed 3 points.
Let’s get this top 4 sorted.

Ha bollocks mate. EVERY time we win we get the same page count. We’ve got so many shit fans nowerdays. Only happy when slagging everyone off - like I’m doing now lol. There’s so much to comment on that game today. Improved defence, academy lads doing great, players improving, great subs, beating ANOTHER inform team etc etc. It’s not all 5 nils anymore.

Everybody takes different things out of a game. All of what you said is true of course but it doesn't hide the fact it was an instantly forgettable game. We're labouring towards the end of a horrible season, when we can't catch a break with injuries and players suddenly looking their age and others losing form. If we get into the champions league and win the cup it will be a huge bonus in what has been a dog turd of a season by our high standards.

A derby thread, win, draw, or lose will always attract more comment, we didn't, and showed little desire to win, that will always attract more comment, so hard to compare the 2 really.

Today we got the job done, and most are now thinking of something else, I'm sure the thread will pick up a bit later.

A win, a clean sheet, that's all that really matters.
The Forest game when we lost a very tight match had more posts than the Derby thread . Folk post more to moan than to celebrate.

Not at all, and I’ll admit I’ve not seen the game at all, but for me I can’t see why after a win away that helps our CL chances, someone would post that.
I don't understand why one is dependent on the other. Sorry

Big win, but an average performance or was it a game plan that came off, Doku and Kovačić changed the game for me. the Everton full-back bossed Savinho all game, but didn't fancy defending Doku.

Look, results over performance all day long for me at this stage of the season, Ortega played well, the back 2 defenders ok, the midfield weak and sloppy, forwards false 9 ok, but the full backs Nunes and O'Reilly played very well and O'Reilly is a great find,

You learn more in defeat than victory.
Firstly that is untrue, you can learn as much by studying what you did right as what you did wrong.Looking at what you did wrong rather than right is actually a losers mentality.

Secondly many of the posts are not about learning they are about moaning.

Ortega good saves but poor distribution
Gvardiol was excellent. Motm.

Nunes was OK but foul throws again wtf.

Gonzalez and gundog was OK.

Bernardo and Kevin poor games, Kevin especially.

Marmoush was off it today but still did enough. Still looked good.

Savinho wasn't good.

Doku was a well needed sub, I think he is our only player who drives at the opposition regularly. Sometimes it works sometimes not, but he reminds me of sterling at his peak.

Oreilly played really well. I like that's he is getting all this game time.

The game was boring to watch, low quality even at times. I thought we managed the game well though, I don't think they troubled us that much looking back at it. I'm glad we didn't lose too, we need to keep the confidence going.

Tough one out of the way, bring on the next team.
Nunes is an accident waiting to happen with his long passing across our defence!!
Nico G was ok ( not certain why Pep took him off)
Ruben and Josko were good
Bernardo,Kev and Gundo were poor today ( please Pep only play one of them!!) at a time
Nico O was excellent again show skill and guts ( please take note the rest of the team except Omar who works hard)
Savinho keeps running down a blind alley
Doko looked dangerous when he came on as it Kova

it was good to see Manu come on near the end ( right full back please)

Please play James as well he is needed

Very happy with the win, but a dreadful game

You say that because they missed a couple of sitters. It was typical of much of our season for 70 minutes, slow and boring. Played very well last 20 though to get a big 3 points.
Not really Craig. Most teams are capable of creatin at least 1 or 2 chances in their home games. We contained very well then put it to bed. That’s the way I saw it anyway. But we all have different views. Either way a good crucial win :-)

Didn’t have the means to watch the game, but I listened to the commentary. Then I read the MUEN player ratings. What are they smoking? It must be crack cocaine, they are so biased, what a terrible online news channel, almost as bad as the Bournemouth Echo, which is saying something.
