Re: Everton Vs City Pre Match Discussion Thread

Either:

--------------Hart---------------

Zabaleta--Kolo----Nastasic--Clichy

----------Yaya---Garcia---------

-Milner-------Nasri--------Silva--

-------------Dzeko--------------

Or:

--------------Hart---------------

Zabaleta--Kolo----Nastasic--Clichy

---------Garcia---Barry----------

-Milner-------Yaya--------Silva--

-------------Dzeko--------------

That's going off the fact that we may be without Tevez.

Questions From A Everton Fan.

Not me but just seen this on the pre-match thread

Hello to all City fans, and good luck for the rest of the season.

Would you be kind enough to take a few minutes to answer a few match related questions, for a brand new Everton forum please?

http://www.loveeverton.proboards.com

Your imput will be the first one we've done, so we can't think of a better club to start with.

1: Do you think your chances of retaining the title this year have gone?

2: Why do you think your team have perhaps not built upon last seasons successes.

3: What are your thoughts on the strength of the league as a whole this year?

4: Regarding Everton, are you expecting another competetive game on Saturday?

5: Do you have an opinion on Moyes and his contract situation?

6: Will you be courting any of our players come summer?

7: Saturdays scoreline?

I'll keep it short with the questions, and take this opportunity to wish you all the best.

Thanks very much for your participation, and all City fans will be welcomed and respected should you visit us.

Love Everton Forum.

ps. Couldn't see a start thread option, so it might be that new members can't create threads.

I'll answer later.

Maybe a silly question here, but anyway; if you saw it on the pre-match thread, why does it need a separate thread?

So more people can see it and the bloke can have his questions answered.

Ric's allowed fans of other clubs to ask us questions despite them not having 100 posts.

Re: Everton Vs City Pre Match Discussion Thread

Hopefully with a lunchtime kick off and after what happened last week, the intensity in the stands just won't be there.

Everton have needed that needle and spark from their fans to take game to next level against us.

Wigan showed that ball retention and clever use of it on break can kill them.

Big game from both Yaya and Silva needed.

Re: Everton Vs City Pre Match Discussion Thread

Watching RM on pre-game press conference on mcfc.co.uk it was disappointing to see all the emphasis on "why City & RM have a poor record against Everton?"
It's time to move away from all this negative thinking and negative spin.
It's time to move in a positive direction; let's have an attacking line-up pressing hard from the start, get ahead and stay ahead.
Need to make the most of the early start and Everton still singing the blues after Wigan debacle in the Cup. Nasri is too lightweight for this game.

Re: Questions From A Everton Fan.

1: Do you think your chances of retaining the title this year have gone?
Yep. Gap is too big and the rags were distraught after last year and won't make the same mistake again. Although it would be fucking brilliant if they did fuck it up.

2: Why do you think your team have perhaps not built upon last seasons successes.
A few things: Hunger, opposition get wiser, injuries (we were lucky last year) but mainly the rags having Sergio's goal rammed down their throats 24/7 has fired them up. Kudos to he Wilmslow Wino.

3: What are your thoughts on the strength of the league as a whole this year?
Not as strong as previous years but still a good level.

4: Regarding Everton, are you expecting another competetive game on Saturday?
Yep, especially after the Wigan game.

5: Do you have an opinion on Moyes and his contract situation?
A bit strange. Not sure of his reasons for not signing tbh. He is well paid, manages a good club and the grass is not always greener on he other side.

6: Will you be courting any of our players come summer?
Doubt it. I think Baines could improve us but we have two top left backs as it is.

7: Saturdays scoreline?
About time we won at Goodison! 2-1 to city.

Your imput will be the first one we've done, so we can't think of a better club to start with.

1: Do you think your chances of retaining the title this year have gone?

Yes. Too many drawn matches have cost us

2: Why do you think your team have perhaps not built upon last seasons successes.

We failed in Europe (in a very tough group), but apart from that, we're not far off where we were at this stage last season

3: What are your thoughts on the strength of the league as a whole this year?

It's entertaining watching a few teams battle out for 3rd - 6th place, but this I think is due to some of the "bigger" teams failing rather than others catching up

4: Regarding Everton, are you expecting another competetive game on Saturday?

As always. You seem to want it more against us than anyone else

5: Do you have an opinion on Moyes and his contract situation?

I think he's pissed off with working on such a tight budget and is waiting for a job where he's got some money to spend to come along

6: Will you be courting any of our players come summer?

I doubt it. You've a couple of very good players in Fellani and Baines, but we're covered there. However, I think you may move for some of our players

7: Saturdays scoreline?

A hard fought 1-0 to us. Fellani's goals have dried up (that's him nailed on to score now)

Re: Questions From A Everton Fan.

1. Gone (but need to close the gap)
2. Injuries & Mancini spending to much time looking after Baloteli.
3. Weaker.
4. No, feel Everton are looking tired.
5. He is waiting out to see if anyone comes in for him.
6. Maybe Baines.
7. 2 - 0 City, Tevez on fire.

Re: Questions From A Everton Fan.

1: Do you think your chances of retaining the title this year have gone?

Yes, the gaps too big but hopefully we win the FA cup.

2: Why do you think your team have perhaps not built upon last seasons successes.

Our main players such as Hart, Kompany, Richards, Yaya, Silva and Aguero haven't been as good as last season + Sinclair and Garcia's a downgrade on Johnson and De Jong.

3: What are your thoughts on the strength of the league as a whole this year?
The weaker teams are getting stronger, can the bottom team in La Liga claim they have a player as good as Remy or Samba?

4: Regarding Everton, are you expecting another competetive game on Saturday?
Of course.

5: Do you have an opinion on Moyes and his contract situation?
He should put it to bed one way or another as I think it's affected your recent results.

6: Will you be courting any of our players come summer?

Maybe Fellaini, apart from Baines(but we have Clichy and Kolarov.) and maybe Jagielka I don't think anyone is good enough for City(no disrespect.)

7: Saturdays scoreline?

1-0 Everton.

Yes

2: Why do you think your team have perhaps not built upon last seasons successes.
Brian Marwood

3: What are your thoughts on the strength of the league as a whole this year?
Same as last year

4: Regarding Everton, are you expecting another competetive game on Saturday?
As always with it being Evertons cup final

5: Do you have an opinion on Moyes and his contract situation?
No
6: Will you be courting any of our players come summer?
No

7: Saturdays scoreline?
0-2 in your cup final

Can't stand Everton

Re: Questions From A Everton Fan.

1: Do you think your chances of retaining the title this year have gone?

Probably but not definately.

2: Why do you think your team have perhaps not built upon last seasons successes.

Battles over transfers behind the scenes meant that we didn't really replace some of the players who left, we've also been unlucky with injuries this season.

3: What are your thoughts on the strength of the league as a whole this year?

We've been treading water while United have improved. I don't think think there's been a major change in quality.

4: Regarding Everton, are you expecting another competetive game on Saturday?

Very competitive.

5: Do you have an opinion on Moyes and his contract situation?

Good manager, limited in what he can achieve because of a tight budget.

6: Will you be courting any of our players come summer?

Possibly Fellani but probably no one.

7: Saturdays scoreline?

0-3.

Re: Everton Vs City Pre Match Discussion Thread

1: Do you think your chances of retaining the title this year have gone?

Yep, gone. The final gap will be 5-7 points, not 12, but there's too much to do.

2: Why do you think your team have perhaps not built upon last seasons successes.

Key players not hitting the heights of last season and not playing with enough intensity away from home all too often.

3: What are your thoughts on the strength of the league as a whole this year?

Very poor... the United side is nothing special but are on course for a record points haul, tells you all you need to know. All the top clubs bar the rags have had disarray at some point in the season which is rare.

4: Regarding Everton, are you expecting another competetive game on Saturday?

Yep, though we'll win this one. You looked shocking last weekend, Fellaini didn't want to know, and with Howard and Jagielka out that defence does not look stable.

5: Do you have an opinion on Moyes and his contract situation?

I hope he's managing our neighbours in the near future, put it that way...

6: Will you be courting any of our players come summer?

Can't see it. Vinnie gets on with Fellaini and that might fuel rumours but we don't need him here, quite similar to Yaya who is five times the player.

7: Saturdays scoreline?

Everton 1-3 City

Re: Everton Vs City Pre Match Discussion Thread

Without sounding too pessimistic you can get 9/2 on an Everton clean sheet tomorrow, that seems very high, especially if Tevez isn't 100%.

1: Do you think your chances of retaining the title this year have gone?
Yes, unfortunately.

2: Why do you think your team have perhaps not built upon last seasons successes.
A disastrous summer transfer window followed by quite a few players performing below the required standard this season.

3: What are your thoughts on the strength of the league as a whole this year?
Pretty ordinary.

4: Regarding Everton, are you expecting another competetive game on Saturday?
Yes, very. Everton are always competitive, especially against us when they seem to raise their game. Maybe we should borrow Wigan away kits for this one!

5: Do you have an opinion on Moyes and his contract situation?
I think he's done a very good job with limited funds to be fair.

6: Will you be courting any of our players come summer?
I'd like Fellaini but wouldn't be too fussed if we don't get him. Baines is a good player too but I think Clichy is even better.

7: Saturdays scoreline?
Everton 1 City 2
