For the match:
Massive guts and balls from Eric for the first goal. Yes, he is still searching his form, facing serious internal competition, but I have never ever lost my trust in him. Neither has his manager and his teammates. Exhausted, like all our players, he will take the initiative, penetrate their box, make it happen. The rest is history...
Beyond the match:
The boss will keep talking about utopia, the boys will keep proving him wrong. Josep Guardiola is an intelligent man...
We are talking about MEN out there. Men who have taken sacrifice to another level. Playing every 3-4 days for 3 months, yet refusing to accept any excuse. And they keep marching on all fucking fronts, making people like Klopp and Mourinho seem ridiculous figures...
What Guardiola is already producing this season is inconceivable. This situation does not belong even in a dream - and it's already reality. It's sad that there are still people in this forum unable to appreciate the HUGE quality of work delivered by one of the historically 3 - 5 best ever to honor that profession. Because that's what's behind all this. Quality of work and sacrifice...
History will acknowledge, no doubt about that. In the meantime, the media whores, rival fans, as well as rival managers, will keep talking about money. History is written right in front of their eyes, yet that's the best they can make out of it. It's sad and we have to feel sorry for them, but that's the way it is...
Which means that, as the boss says, we have to do it ourselves. Identify how this became possible. How this man has beaten nature. Temporarily perhaps, nevertheless he has. And why City's means and weapons in this battle simply define limitations for everyone else...
As for tonight, warm congratulations to all the boys. Those on the pitch as well as the ones on the bench. Everybody is important, and everyone is contributing, I see them as family. Get back safe - and get some well deserved rest, those of you who can anyway...
PS. I said the other night that I refuse to let that fucking statement change my positive feelings towards Everton. And I will repeat it tonight, even though Alan and Richarlison in particular did everything possible to influence my attitude. Totally unprofessional behavior, trying to influence Oliver all night. And in the end, having a friendly chat with the Brazilians in our squad, like nothing had happened...
As usual, our boys are generous, it's the City way, and I will follow them. Good luck to Everton and good luck to their fans, a lot of them are contributing to this forum, for the rest of the season...
