Everton fans last night

If you click on the most read stories in the Echo, of the top five, three are "City kicks off" stories...

http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/most-read/

So surprise, surprise, they rehash them for another spurious pile of shite which merits their lead banner headline on their website...

Everton fan groups call for end of "mud slinging" after "awful" scenes of crowd violence at Man City

http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpool-news/everton-fan-groups-call-end-10810645

And of the five recommended stories on the Echo website, four are these anti City click bait bullshit.

This is beyond a joke.

I wonder how the Liverpool media would react if a City fan was stabbed and killed by an Everton fan next season. They seem to be doing their very best to stir up trouble between the fans...which is a disgrace.

The normal fans on both sides pay no attention to this kind of crap journalism but we all know that there are also the idiots out there...ON ALL SIDES.
...

2 similar stories from the same journalist. I have never seen city fans target disabled fans before and I am 100% certain that if any city fan witnessed such behaviour they would very quickly turn on the culprit.

It's very interesting that this story is in the echo, mirror but not the evening news, puzzling as at least it should be taken up to prove or disprove.

Been lurking this forum for a few years now as a football fan i find it one of the better ones As an evertonian myself I had to finally sign up after the events of Wednesday night, every time there is trouble at football matches it seems to be blown out of proportion usually though it blows over pretty quickly however this feels different it seems like the media especially the echo are doing their best to stir things up between the two clubs instead of telling it like it was which was a local rivalry slightly getting out of control because a few idiots on both sides.

As for this alleged abuse of the disabled kid as a father myself I would not put my kids in that position and I wouldn't be running to the media afterwards either and I think you'll find if you look on our forums a lot of evertonians aren't buying into the hate the echo is trying to breed so hopefully city fans don't view us in the same light too.

there are idiots in our society full stop it matters little which team they follow and yes the normal match goer might get caught up in the emotion of the night but that's football that's why we love it the tribalism and feeling of belonging and pride in your team as it happens our pride took another beating Wednesday after a good start but That's no excuse for bottles being thrown these people need locking up !

You sir are the voice of reason - fair play to you.

Nice one mate, we all need to move on now. End of the day we both want to see the red side of merseyside suffer, we've got that in common at least.

Hi lads and lasses.
I come in peace and just wanted to say a few things on your site.
I have read, as you all have, the report from the echo. If it's true, I'm sure anyone would condemn such actions...if it's true!!! I personally can't see it as I can't imagine any fans would stand by and let such a thing happen. I know many City fans due to work, and have always got along great with them all.
Like most "stories" in the LIVERPOOL Echo, we either take them with a pinch of salt or simply ignore them. This is the newspaper that most Evertonians won't even read due to its biased coverage of a certain other team....very selective reporting and coverage of historic misdemeanours you might say.
We WERE beaten by the better team in the semi yes we were pissed off with the decision but not with City. It was simply a "why us"? moment. We're more pissed off with a manager who has now began looking elsewhere for why we're crap rather than looking at himself.
Don't think for one moment that we don't like city, quite the opposite in fact. I think you'll find you've got a lot more support from this side than you think. It only tends to be the moronic cyber warriors (as most clubs have) that try to stir shit up. I suppose I can add the LIVERPOOL Echo to that list.
So good luck for the rest of the season lads and ladesses and rest assured, every single one of us will be cheering you on when you stick 5 past the Devils spawn.
Cheers.

Very good post mate and good luck to you for the rest of the season.

Nice to see some Everton fans treating this storm in a tea cup for what it is.

Time to move on.

I also find it hard to believe that a City fan would do this and I have no doubt at all that someone other than the alleged target of this abuse would have taken issue with this and reported it.

In anycase whoever is responsible for this whole episode should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves it does neither club any good.
Dont't kid yourself mate and i have no idea if this is true or not, but ive seen some city fans do some awful fuckin shit in past games at opposing fans.

Every club has horrible cunts following them including us.
