Everton (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

As Pep said, games after international breaks often suffer to begin with until the players get back into the City groove.

The lift in confidence after we went 2 up, helped by Bernie being on the pitch, was a pointer to what this team could do if it can recover the confidence levels / mentality that made City champions. This team can be a lot better than it is, which is not a complaint but a cause for optimism.
It will improve as they create a groove. Familiar patterns will emerge. Time is what’s needed.

let everyone keep writing us off, the desperation for arsenal in the media is nauseating

were not at full pace and we are in amongst it

game at a time lets see where is gets us
The guy above said, "Already +8 better off points wise from the same fixtures last season. Still players to come back/play into form. Just keep ticking over quietly let everyone praise Arsenal."

On 606 last night they started by bleating on about Arsenal already being 7 points better off so far this season than they were with the same fixtures last season.

No bias from the Beeb, is there!!

If Erling had his best boots on, we'd have won 4-0. If any of the others had done their jobs properly, the score could have been about 7-3 for us.

Moyes and Everton has always meant a difficult game and a tough watch. Some things don't change! We looked a bit disjointed in the first half. Comfortable after that. Good 3 points and the run continues. Well played to the big man.

I dread to think…

Our other forwards need to up their goalscoring games. 8 games into the PL season now and ‘Own Goal’ is still our second top scorer with 2.

Across all 11 games in all comps, they’ve scored just 4 goals between them… and 2 goals between them in 8 PL games:

Foden - 1 PL goal, 0 CL goals, 1 EFL goal
Cherki - 1 PL goal (not played in any other comp)
Doku - 0 PL goals, 1 CL goal
Savinho - 0 PL goals, 0 CL goals, 1 EFL goal
Bobb - 0 PL goals, 0 CL goals, 0 EFL goals
Yes but we would be playing a different game if we didn't have Haaland. Many seem to forget that we were becoming serial title winners long before he got here and may have made different decisions in the transfer market if we hadn't signed him.

My only gripe is he could have been an England player if we had a decent set up at the FA, a glaring fact that the media never even mention when raving about the England set up and it's potential. I'm looking forward to another World Cup where we can get our boys home early and prepped for next season.

Much more entertaining second half after a drab first . We look so much better when we move it quickly instead of the sideways and backwards shite. Reijnders should be dropped .
Thought Reijnders was good in the first half, linking up play well with Phil and Savin-oh-no He seemed to leave all his energy in the dressing room and started awful in the second

Weird comment. In what scenario does "doing their jobs properly" see Everton scoring 3 goals? It's about making sure as far as is possible that we take the three points, so job done.

Ended up a really good win, and a positive last 35 that fans could really get into.

Thought we saw a whole range of City. Rather drab in the first half, struggling with channel balls, to downright sloppy in the first 5 or 8 mins of the 2nd. Then suddenly we saw us being dangerous, quick and incisive.

I think we definitely still adapting. Bernie was a big difference maker to the balance of the side, and sadly Reijnders is still struggling a bit. Ultimately Savinho flourished and so did the side. Oreily brilliant, Gonzalez good, I thought Bobb was really way off, he looked a bit lost.

Up the blues, really decent result. For Everton, Ndiaye is a really bright player and Beto strong as an ox up top but thank god he's a bit crap.

Pep said in a post match interview that we are set up to feed Haaland. While admitting we will need more goal contributions from other players. I worry about Haaland missing games because we don't seem as well equipped to play without him as we used to be, but we'll see.

I expect the yawn was at least partly because some of us are just sick of hearing people whinging about something all the fucking time. Savinho made the assist that pretty much secured the win and sent us back to the top of the table, at least for a few hours but it shows we're back heading in the right direction, in serious contention and sometimes, in fact most of the time, facts like that are all that matters.

I say it virtually every week and I'm going to keep on saying it, this is the greatest period in our history, a period which few clubs will ever witness, a period we should be absolutely revelling in and yet all we get on here week in week out are a bunch of whining clowns who have nothing better to do. Some of us would just like to be grateful for what we have and enjoy it, we don't want to hear all this whinging and whining all the fucking time ESPECIALLY after a win. Fuck knows how some of you would cope in a crisis. Get a bloody life.
Watched us since the mid 80’s mate, I’ve seen enough crisis’s to last a lifetime 10 times over!, your right this is our best time ever & of course I’m loving every min as we all are, doesn’t alter my opinion of savinho tho, have a good sunday ;)

Just to let everyone know city did lap of thank you,s at end of game
Got to mention because the majority had gone long before and are taking piss out of other teams doing it
Pep loves it at back waving to everyone

We won't know or see until it happens . . .

When the new screens go up outside everyone will be able to watch from the tram queue

He got fouled & the ball was going out of play...harsh...

It was not a foul and the referee didn't blow his whistle. He is not good enough, and when he's doing stuff like that, it makes him look like a fool and a baby, The only reason he is in the team is because his control of a cross-field pass is very good, But after it's not good enough
