Everton (H) Post-Match Thread

How wasn’t CL two footed challenge on Ferni assessed by VAR??? Oh that’s right he doesn’t play for City. Also the foul on Foden was quickly brushed aside, we all know that would have been given if it had been a team that wears red. Is the inconsistency that’s ruining it. I won’t buy another PL ticket.

Pleased to see the 3-4-3 formation, it gives us back the natural width we have been so badly lacking with the inverted wingers and the added defensive cover gives us the stability to play without fear again. I know it was ruled out for another marginal offside but finally a tap in at the back post again (Foden).

Special mentions to Garcia and Foden, both of them were brilliant. Garcia looks like he's an old school Italian centre back in the sense of impeccable timing, reading of the game and getting very tight to players. There was a sliding interception in the second half, I can't remember the exact time but it's the moment I thought fuck me we have a proper proper defender here, this kid just loves to defend. Foden is ready now, again his timing and movement are impeccable, he taught Coleman (#23?) a lesson tonight and was unlucky not to have been rewarded with a goal. Defensively he was brilliant too, constantly pressing and forcing mistakes.

Great to see Jesus get two more too, the kid is top class and is now getting the goals (at home) as well that his all-round play thoroughly deserves. People will always make comparisons to Aguero but it's just rubbish, the lad is a completely different type of striker and can easily become the most complete striker in world football with a bit more time.

I usually give Mahrez some shit but he was brilliant today, if he puts in a shift like that every week it would be impossible to criticise him. The goals, runs and skills are meaningless without the effort defensively but today he was bang on it.

Top notch from quite a few
Mendy had his best game in ages
Well done, Garcia. Likewise Foden.

The only downpoints were the fannies on the Match day thread. My last visit. Sick and tired of reading "football is fucked" and "Mt season card's in the bin". The crucial VAR decisions tonight were CORRECT. Put the boot on the other foot. Had the same decisions gone AGAINST Everton, I bet some of the two faced fuckers wouldn't be bemoaning VAR, and it taking the emotion away from THEIR fans celebrating.

Oh, and that accident waiting to happen, in goal.
I'm in my fifty first year.
I drink too much
I'm asthmatic
I haven't "gone in nets" since 1986, when I last played "three and in" on the playing fields behind my mum and dad's house, yet I'm probably more reliable than the bloke, tonight.

Too think, we cast aside a x4 Golden Gloves winner, for this whopper

Another armchair fan praising VAR. What a shock!

As MotD didn't show the penalty claim or the Calvert-Lewin foul, any chance of clips being posted?

Dunno what others expecting with Taylor as fourth official!

stoll 3 points and good performances from the youngsters, very happy with how that’s going!

not a chance in hell but maybe Sheffield could do us a favor

Thought we had several standouts today - both wing backs, Foden, Garcia, Gundo, Jesus all great.

Honorable mention for Bravo who gets the years first ‘gormless twat’ award.

I Nnominate ‘gormless’ for word of the month.
Much under used but fabulous when it is.
