Everton (H) - Post-Match Thread

Watching the end of the OS Extended highlights it seems that a young fair-headed lad wants to get(I think) Rodri's shirt. There is a definite movement to take the shirt off. Who was the Everton youngster and was it Rodri?

It was a City youngster and yes he got onto the pitch at the end - security immediately went to overreact, but Rodri told them to back off and gave the lad his shirt. Obviously a job's worth escorted the lad back to his parents and gave them a lecture.

Fair enough, I’m on the last row of CB2 towards the Family stand, I have never heard anyone boo but that’s just around me, my hearing isn’t 100% but it’s a bit of an older generation in there, @meeesh sits not too far away, he may be able to confirm. We have been known to sing, one of my favourites was “La La La La Summerbee” :-)
I’m in 230 and there’s never been any booing, apart from the CL jingle.

Just watching the match on City+. I'm too biased to have an objective view on the penalty decisions. The Sterling one was soft and shouldn't have been given but you're right it shouldn't have been overturned.
Gundogan was bounced off the ball by Iwobi, body to body. Probably wasn't a pen but I'd have wanted one. Bernardo was kicked on the bottom of his foot when it was in the air. Think Walker had one the same given against him last season. It was difficult for the on field ref to see but I'm pretty sure VAR was in operation yesterday
I think the problem with the Bernardo decision was his delayed fall. It never looks good to a ref.

However, I think its because Bernardo tried to play on instead of collapsing as soon as he felt the contact.

He then felt pain in his foot and decided he couldn’t keep running.

100% penalty for me.

I still haven't seen this again, can you post a clip?

Playing the best football of any team anywhere in the world. Some sublime combinations with MOTM performances all over the park.

The only thing missing is the game where we put every chance away and absolutely hammer someone.

Given the quality of the football, it’s hard to believe we have a worse GD than Chelsea and Liverpool!

Going to be an interesting season, but regardless of how it ends up, it is an absolute joy to be a City fan right now. Football of the highest order.

Like I said I'm too biased but VAR should have intervened?
