Everton (H) | Post Match Thread

Ref was poor but not to blame. We are done in the league this year. After January we will be fighting for top 4.
Nobody has ever lifted the trophy in December. You don't have to be happy about today's result or performance, but this is obscenely dramatic. We dominated Leeds a few days ago, this is hardly some run of bad form. It's a one off result against a team that did not come to try and play football.

These results happen. Its not the end of the world or the season. Arsenal will slip at some point.

It goes without saying we were poor overall today but anyone here who is crying "top 4 time" or "the title's gone" should start following darts or golf and give up a game that clearly takes a measure of resolve not possessed. Jump off the bandwagon you moaners so happily hear when City are soaring- we don't need you.
It’s called being realistic. I really despise the happy clappers we have.

What's the odds we got to Chelsea and tear them to pieces , we appear to be more fluent away from home at the moment , nearly every game at home is against a low block/bus parking/ten behind the ball team and has been for a few seasons. We are struggling this season to break them down , which is strange when we have one of the best strikers in the world at our disposal.

I actually thought we played ok in the first half. Scored a goal, hit the post and should've had a penalty.

We usually start the second half really well but that long stoppage just after half-time killed any momentum we might've had and the stop-start nature of the rest of the game really didn't suit us.

Their goal was predictably their first and only shot and was of course a worldie. They wouldn't have even had that chance if it wasn't for an uncharacteristically poor pass from Rodri.

I'm not saying we were great because we weren't but on another day we win that 3-1 and we all say job done.

Miles off our usual standard and have been for most of the season if truth be told. Far too reliant on Haaland's goals, and incapable of keeping a clean sheet. Too many players like Mahrez, Gundog and Bernardo struggling for form and too much chopping and changing at the back. We need Walker, Cancelo and either Dias or Laporte back in.

Pep's insistence on starting Mahrez and Grealish is odd but it seems he'd rather lose the league with them than win it with Foden/Alvarez. Maybe the January window is a good time to offload Foden before his value drops too much? I can't imagine it's going to go up with him being used only slightly more than Cole Palmer.

Can’t tell if this is a joke or not?
