Everton post-match thread

Ancoats, you stopped me working to listen to the incomparable Elkie!! So when my boss (me) tells me off this evening for not putting the washing in to dry and not hoovering the stairs, I'm blaming you kiddo!!

But I agree with the sentiments, it is only a fool (apologies to anyone who is upset by that) who thinks it's over yet. We are in the semi final, there is another 90 minutes to play, we can more than do it at home.

so true I even had us down to lose before kick off and was happy that we scored that away goal it will mean everything in the 2nd leg and give's everton that dangle carrot on a rope leading the donkey. its like they can defend the 2.1 lead but knowing city will score more than once in the 90mins

Probably mentioned earlier in the thread but did only three players (Silva, Fernandinho and Navas) applaud the fans at the end of the game. Thought that was very poor.

Funny how we all see different things watching the same game. I thought Delph was poor, albeit being played out of position. He needs to be more positive with his runs and passing for me.

Also think it's unfair to judge Sergio at the moment. He was isolated for most of the game last night. Having said that, he could have scored in both halves.

Part of the problem for me is that KDB and Silva occupy the same areas of the pitch too much, making it easier to mark them both. When we have wingers, those pockets of space become larger allowing Silva or KDB room to work and create.

If I was able to pick the team, I'd try 442 for a few games with Silva or Sterling as the number 10. It worked well at Watford.
Agree that it's all very subjective. I wasn't trying to say Delph was great, just better. Still a long way to an automatic starting spot. Sergio is getting back towards his best, stays out of bother injury wise he should be thereabouts by February. Also with you on the 4-4-2 line up.

I think we can overturn it but the goal last night was more important not because we will scrape a 1-0 but that we will almost certainly concede one goal which we pretty much always do at home. We haven't had a clean sheet since Watford, 13 games ago! I think we will probably need to score 3 goals to win in normal or extra time.

It's still worth saying again Madley was woeful and I would be much happier if we didn't have either himself or his partner in incompetence Roger East anywhere near another City match this season.

Is it just me or is the premier league panel of referees particularly poor this season?

They do seem to have some inept officials this season, they are a poor lot

You are asking to be banned aren't you?

An Arsenal fan telling other fans to be more humble? You couldn't make it up. Probably the least humble fans in the league.

He's totally wrong in this case anyway. There was quite a bit of pessimism on the pre-match thread thread. Sure there were confident posts as well and why not as we were playing away at the 11th place team who we had comfortably beaten away earlier in the season.

I would imagine the Arsenal forums were also quite confident before their 3-0 defeat against Sheffield Wednesday.

Performance wasn't good but we are still in it with a good chance of progressing.

Well I was going to say at least we didn't pick up any injuries! What positivss is there karen? Under mancini we were easy on the eye solid at the back and bullied teams! This idiot must send the players home with a knitting neddle and ball of wool we look like a bunch of fairies! And the players are not as good as we think! We are starting to sound like rags!

You have a very selective memory. Second season under Mancini, we had no width and teams soon figured that they could pack the defences and shut us down. We lost the title by a country mile to an extremely ordinary United side. Easy on the eye if you were a fan of the Scum for sure, yes.
