Everton - Post match thread.

Well I've been going for nearly 50.years & only seen us do.it in the lower leagues.
So you can be as miserable as you want but I thought it was fucking fantastic.

Play like that & defend properly we win the lot.
How many saves did Pickford make? Defend properly that's a big issue. Everton are not a genuinely good team. Play like that and we will win nowt and I'm not being miserable that's just the way it is. We didn't work the keeper. Koeman made a bizarre change to his formation and as you say that goal we conceded was awful. Great spirit and a good point given we had ten. But playing like that is not good enough I'm sorry mate.

Thought we were superb

Two decisions cost us

Peps decision to play Sane at left wing back and a joke decision by the official(s) to send off Walker

If we'd started with Danilo and if that clown Madeley wasn't such a **** we'd have won at a canter

As for The blue dippers, worst Everton team I've seen in 10 years

I thought aguero played well..i thought his hold up play and link up play was actually quite good..some good touches to set up players..bar the slip and the one where he was through and took too many touches he didn't do an awful lot wrong..david Silva looked off the pace a bit..sane at lwb struggled not surprisingly..ederson looks brilliant on the ball..sterling gotta start next week and Bernardo Silva looked good...ref fucked us,softest yellow you will see this season..to get a point with ten men for the whole second half shower good charachter...on to Bournemouth now!!

Frustrating evening. Played well in patches but we need to learn how to finish. Need another left back which for me is more of a priority for me than being cb. Sane needs to be playing further forward.

It's because every player was watching the ball. Same move happened earlier.
The centre backs ball watch and the holder ball chases. I sympathise with the back line as being countered 3 vs 3 is hard to deal with, especially when running backwards. It's a situation which always favours the forwards.

In an effort to get back in control of the situation Fernandinho opted to to ground, selling himself in the process. He and Otamendi are visibly the weak links. Both very reactionary and rash. It causes too much chaos. It's fine one week when interceptions are coming off, but total shite a week later when we get sliced through by a good side.

We were excellent in the 2nd half and got a deserved point however I am at a loss as to how a back 3/back 5 has become our go to formation. Last season, we couldn't defend for shit, you could have made a strong argument for throwing in an extra CB and yet Pep refused to do it. We then spend a fortune on FBs in the summer and it looks like we are primed to play a very attacking 442/4231 with quick wingers and overlapping FBs, basically overloading in the wide areas. Instead we throw in an extra CB and negate what we thought would be our main strengths. Stones was a complete passenger tonight and I don't even think it was his fault, he was like a spare dick in a porno, he's there and nobody knows why. We then have Sane who is one of the best young, attacking wingers around but this formation makes him look a worse full back than Clichy. He can't defend and he is then so deep, that offensively, the opposing FB can see him coming from a mile away. It's early days with this formation but at the moment it stinks of square pegs, round holes to ensure Pep can get the names he wants on the pitch even if it means they are playing out of position.
