Everton - Post match thread.

Sterling has been miles better than Jesus on every occasion so far & looked more likely to score as well as causing more danger from open play.

Jesus will come back, he is a potential genius, but he is currently the worst of our attacking players & doesn't deserve to be starting. If he does start, it should be as an alternative to Ageuro imo, the two together are ok, but not as good as any of the alternatives.

Agreed - Jesus can be used in a similar way to how Rashford/Martial are utilised.

Hes only a kid its not essential that he starts every game - whilst a brilliant option and alternative to Aguero, he still has a lot of learning to do and we have other players who are currently better options (if Aguero is on the pitch).

I hope so, but I don't think Pep covered himself with glory with his 352 and Sane Walker who sat deep. 1st half was poor.
Not sure I'd class it as tactically poor, as we did have very good opportunities in the first half. I can pretty much guarantee that if those chances would have been put away, very few people would have questioned the formation tonight.

The 10 that finished the match were streets ahead of the 11 that started it! Ref had a nightmare but we've only got ourselves to blame for not converting the chances.

we had a few chances but were better with 10 men.

Can't believe no has mentioned that pep subbed the wrong striker in Jesus.
Was not clinical but was very pacy and made those defenders work unlike aguero.

Sterling is our most threatening player yet he's always on the bench. If he's not starting the next game I think I'll probably pull all my hair out.

Gutted. However, Bernardo - shades of Kinkladze - the poise, the movement, the way he addresses the ball, invites the tackle and glides away effortlessly. Already a massive bargain. Going to be monstrous for us.
I thought Bernardo played well for 10 mins just like Kinkladze

And the shape was exposing Sane repeatedly. He even had to swap Kompany and Otamendi around to counteract the fact that Everton were simply pumping the ball up into Calvert Lewin in the channels that Sane was leaving wide open - due to the fact he was utterly useless as a LWB.

Pep got it wrong simple as.

Apparently Walker's first sending off in 200 premier league games or something. Welcome to life as a Man City player Kyle, where rules are applied differently to everyone else!

I am not sure that we had that many clear cut chances. Sone situations where we could have done better.

Sane was ineffective and Aguero bottled up. I think we would have won had Guardiola picked the right team. Hopefully lessons learned
