Such odd feelings going into this game, literally all ive thought about all week and the last couple of nights ive even dreamt about the game.

Same here. My arse is twitching like a rabbit's nose today.

Haha, I'm strangely comfortable.

Everton are usually that team we can never beat but with a different manager and their fans not being bothered about winning I think we can take this one. Don't want to jinx things though, Martinez is a good manager and they have a decent set of players.

(To those not arsed reading this essay I'll give it a summary at the bottom)

I'm sure there has been a surge of Everton fans since this fixture has sprung up such a 'unique' situation, so apologies for clogging up your board (Though I'd like to have a gander in and out of here from time to time as you seem a good bunch).

Just got to say regardless of Saturday, the very very best of luck on becoming this years champions. For a while during your takeover, the lescott and moyes stuff I did have some bitterness towards you. I'd say it was out of a bit of envy and a bit of frustration in seeing you come from below us to far and away above us in absolutely no time. But I'm sure you've heard that from other Everton fans before. Reading through this thread I've got to agree in that Moyes always had our team up for games against you, I think it was a selfish vendetta to be honest. If only he could have shown that sort of passion for games against our lovable neighbours. I'm pretty sure he once coined the phrase 'knife to a gun fight' prior to a game against yourselves. A mentality that he filtered down into the players and fans; the miserable, negative knob. I used to think the sun shined out of his arse, pulled the wool right over mine and many other blues eyes.

Anyway, enough about him. I got over that pettiness, the only way you are really going to pull up trees in this league is with serious money. It would be nice to take some high ground about doing it the 'proper way' but that way just isn't possible anymore. If we had a modern stadium maybe we'd also have the type of investment to compete but alas, we're fighting on different battle fields at the moment.

I have thoroughly enjoyed watching City this season, everyone will remember Liverpool's bum rush football at the back end of this season but are quick to forget the devastating, sweeping football you boys played earlier on in the season. I'd love to have seen Negredo and Aguero to have stayed fit for longer and I'm saying that from a pure football fan point of view, it was brilliant. I've wanted you to win it all season quite honestly, your certainly more favorable than the other toss pot clubs vying for it.

I don't even care about being bitter or small time anymore, I hope you beat us on Saturday and I've never wanted us to be beaten before. Taking a bit of flak off the kopites for kissing your arses and taking a beating is far more appealing than the absolutely cringe fest that will occur should they win it. It's not just the fans, its the media as well. They're all willing it on. Did you notice Tyler practically appealing for a penalty for Liverpool on Sunday?
We'll play as strong a side as possible on Saturday though and Martinez WILL go to win the game, which could in fact play into your hands. We'll see. I'm not going to sit there with a face on if we score or boo if we take the points, if we win I'll still be moderately happy. But that sort of happiness when you have a greasy kebab after a night on the ale...you know this is gonna cost you!

To summarise: COME ON CITEH!!

(again, sorry about the essay)

Good post mate.

To be honest, there was a bit of an edge between City and Everton fans long before we were taken over. However, this was ramped up a fair few notches when the Lescott saga unfolded (while some Everton fans were annoyed about us winning the lottery, for me it was this particular episode that really drove a wedge between the two sets of fans). I don't blame Everton fans for siding with Moyes - after all, he was your manager and had done a decent job for you so you were hardly going to criticise him for his stance and comments. It was Moyes who I held ultimately responsible for turning City and Everton fans against each other.

However, if I thought some of his comments were a disgrace at the time, they pale into insignificance when compared to his comments about Everton last summer when United made that joint bid for Baines and Fellaini. It's one thing pissing off a club and set of fans (us) that he doesn't owe any gratitude to, but to do it to a fanbase and a club that had previously given him their blessing when he left for the United job was as low as it gets. If United had put in a realistic opening offer and Moyes had kept his gob shut then I've no doubt that most Evertonians would still have a lot of time for him.

Anyway, while I don't think we'll ever be bosom buddies there's definitely been a thawing of relations of late now that Moyes is no longer associated with Everton. Ironically, at boardroom level I suspect relations between both clubs have been quite good throughout as evidenced by subsequent business we've done in relation to the loan deal for Barry and the Rodwell transfer - both of which were done with the minimum of fuss.

Feel free to subscribe and watch the other vids...this is a new project so it will improve!

You need a silly hat and a few more wtf's in there ;-)
Seriously, nice to hear and good luck with the project.

Remember how focused the players were getting off the coach and before the derby at Old Trafford??? We need that level of concentration and focus tomorrow , we've had a good weeks rest and training so we should be fighting fit!!!! It being Pellegrini 's first visit there with City should be an advantage as he carries non of the baggage of poor recent performances there. We need to fly out of the traps, close down their centre halves as they play out from the back and there's a definite weakness there with Stones and Alcaraz.. C'mon City destiny awaits!!!!

All season, we haven't done enough to earn the right to be top of the table for anywhere near long enough. All the reasons why have been discussed but right now they are irrelevant.

This fixture is a microcosm of our entire season in terms of the title.

A long, hard, tough fight which has really stretched us. However out of sheer stubborness and a little bit of luck over the past week we have one final shot. One final chance to land a knock out blow which we have failed to do all season.

One game of 90 minutes against our toughest opponent over the past few years at the toughest venue.

Conclusion being - we really have to earn this. And if we go and win which I believe we will, we will have really earned it the hard way. And in my opinion, will close the next two games out and win the title for the 2nd time in 3 years.

It will take the most disciplined, mentally strong, assured, composed yet clinical performance of the season. I think we are ready for it.

Is your name Churchill ? ;-)

Thing is not once have any of my worries been anything to do with the fact its Everton at Goodison, i know its a tough place to go but i think we've got more than enough ability, and the current mentality to win this game.

My worries are that were so close to something special this season and i just want to see us fulfill it and not see it blow up in our faces

I'm feeling confident tho

Irrespective who plays for Everton, I think we will be right up for this. MP and the team will make sure we don't throw
another chance of glory away. I know there are 2 other games we need to win too, but they are irrelevant if we don't
beat Everton. Anyway I'm not worrying, as I know that our team on it's day can be unplayable and I fancy Saturday at 17:30
to be one of those days. Step up to the plate one and all your Country needs you ;-)

Hart, Zabaleta, Kompany, MDM, Kolorov, Milner, Fernan, Yaya, Silva, Dzeko, Aguero.

Since his injury, unfortunately Nasri seems to have gone back to his performances of last season and seems devoid of taking any responsibility.

Believe it or not, this isn't meant to be a 'lets slag off Nasri post' but I don't think he is mentally suited for this game, where stakes are high. If Silva is fit, then in from the start for me instead.

That said, I think Samir will start and I hope to god that he proves me wrong.

Like Everton alot more under Martinez now but so desperate to get the win tomorrow evening! If we manage to win the title it'll be 2 titles in 3 years, a double in Pellegrini's first season (the same trophies as Jose managed in his first one) and really building a legacy. It will be a huge underachievement with this squad of players not to win the league, considering the circumstances this year it is really there for the taking. We've now got three games to do it all again on GD and avoid a Liverpool love-in all summer! Hoping so much we can have a derby-esque performance and race out of the blocks, we've been given a second chance and please dont let it slip city! Praying we can hold our nerve, win tmrw and league again, come on you bluess!!!

It will be interesting to see on Saturday Night Football which completely unbiased and neutral pundit will sit alongside the regular and completely unbiased Jamie (Liverpool really do deserve it) Redknapp. Hopefully, it will be either Souness or Carragher to bring some well needed balance to the pre/post match summary. After all, we don't want it to look like everyone in the universe wants the dippers to win do we?
