If Jack Rodwell develops as well as is hoped, Everton could have a rly gd team. Hopefully he does stay, then the competition between arsenal chelsea utd, us, everton might be fierce

I reckon 3 out of those 4 will be off within 2 seasons. Rodwell being the only one to stay.
Funny thread on one of the toffees forums about a title challenge next season!

I think they are not way off mark. They got off to the worst possible start, played the opening match as badly as any team in the Prem had ever done, suffered major players with major injuries and just as they were getting back they suffer another major injury.
I have little time for the Ginger Whinger but consider the points we dropped with 'The Draws at Home' fixtures, EFC have dropped points they would have gathered with a full injury, or mainly injury free team. They outplayed us at Goodison. Convert those matches into points and they would be included in the pack chasing for a fourth place.
And it's not beyond the realms of fantasy to think in terms of winning the league. Any CONSISTENT team in the current top eight, would have had it sewn up by now.
