Do you think 52k lacks a little ambition? Think it looks mint but don’t you reckon they could have gone to 60k?
I think 60k would have been much more of a statement of intent. But guess until things like transport and retail options are looked at the 52k was more realistic.
It is in a relatively undeveloped area of the docks though sandhills would still be nearest station so not a lot of change

Goodison Park can't be expanded cos it's smack bang in the middle of a residential area. If Bramley Moore means not having to sit in a shed, which the Lower Bullens basically is, that's a plus. I will miss Goodison though. It's a shithole, but it's OUR shithole.
I will miss the vertigo of the top balcony and warm chang at half time. It's the football equivalent of the Mary Rose but some great memories to cherish. Won't miss county road mind

There wont be many fans left at the end of the season :)

The trouble with only one entrance is that it'll take ages to walk around to the other side plus you'll get loads of early leavers if walking and transport is bad.
I presume there'll be a promenade area around the ground and multiple entrances.

How's it being financed mate - big cash injection, or Arsenal style freeze on player spending until it's paid for? I only ask as your red brethren seem suddenly filled with a touching concern for your finances ;-)

No idea, but it would help if we could offload some of the players who are just taking up space. Not that anyone wants them.

That’s what a lot of people said about Maine Road

It sure is, and I will miss the place. Great memories. My dad taking me to my first game there when I was 9 is one of the best moments and I can still remember so much about it

Yes! It is our shithole and we love it, but we need a new one.

I believe it's being funded by a loan of £350 million plus a lump sum for naming rights - £150 million. I would imagine Peel Holdings and the City Council will contribute also. There is no real objection to it currently- unesco and english heritage have concerns but these are believed to be offset by the benefits to the city.
Scouse Heritage could be an issue mind !!!! Our neighbours will no doubt petition against it.
Rawk are supplying fireworks and transport plus a police escort for the opening day.

From what I understand, the 52K capacity for the new stadium is partly determined by the limitations of the Bramley Moore Dock site. It's a brilliant location but the price for relocating there is having to sacrifice a little capacity. From a financial perspective, that's not ideal for obvious reasons. But from a footballing perspective, I think it'll be a positive. Will make the ground much tighter and more conducive to a good atmosphere.

Wanted us to win at goodison 2014? Horse shit. I wax there. They went berserk when Barkley scored and were desperate to equalise . Don’t rewrite history to suit today’s narrative
I was drinking with Everton and City fans together before and after that match including a very drunken train ride back to Blackpool. The Everton fans were great, singing songs with City fans and sharing beer. They were far from depressed about Slippy G and the fact we were on track to lift the title. I know things were different in the 1980s but time has moved on.

If Everton play like they did against us for the first sixty minutes they have every chance of beating the Candlelighters , they were solid and tried valiantly to get forward , with Calvin Lewin back they will give Dipper "injury ravaged" F.C. some problems
