I'm trying to work out what the upside is for Potter at this time and I'm struggling tbh. If he is approached, at best I think it's a move with some pretty high risks attached.

I honestly can’t see Rooney leaving Derby. I think he has the bit between his teeth to save them from
Relegation.

I think Hasenhuttl would be a good choice. Done a great job at Southampton on limited resources with their best players always leaving.

If Everton want to avoid getting sucked into a relegation fight, they need Duncan Ferguson to step up as caretaker manager. Their fans love him and he loves the club. I think they will stay up anyway, but it would be a huge risk to appoint a new manager who isn’t already known and trusted by players who are mostly completely lacking in confidence.

Why would Hasenhuttl want to leave when he is doing a decent job, in favour of going to a club in disarray when their owners are concentrating on a new super stadium? Look at Arsenal and Spurs.
