Id take a couple of 13th place finishes the next 2 seasons, if it meant the club was in the process of getting together the right structure/vision and starting to build with good young players coming in. At least then you can see the progress and where the club are trying to head.

We cant even make profits on players now as most of the signings are 25+ on stupid wages so nobody wants them.

We need to start looking at the Dortmund model (think its what Palace are doing, Southampton and possibly Brighton too) of signing up good young talent from the likes of yourselves, Chelsea and elsewhere for decent money, giving them playing time and sell at a profit until you hopefully get to a point where you have a quality crop and can start challenging.
Like a few posters have said, the likes of Everton, Villa etc.. fell in to the trap of falling for the FFP ruling and not seeing the wood from the trees. Its clear as day that it was designed to protect the elite clubs (G12 cartel to put in bluntly) all other clubs believed the media narrative. We got in through the trap door and have had to face scrutiny at every corner but at least we're now self sustained and have been ran impeccably. Any other club who get a benefactor in have their hands tied back and I have no sympathy, they all thought that City was the big bad wolf but in truth it has always been the authorities . Them clubs reap what they sow. Its quite funny seeing Newcastle fans change their tune now they have money.

Completely agree. No room at the top.

Everton would probably take a bit of stability right now and at least start to compete on the pitch again.

Only 2-3 teams can genuinely win the league. The rest must do with a good season and maybe a cup. Unless we have another Leicester season.

No point spending money to only manage 6th.

I hope all clubs can now see the damage United, Arsenal, Spurs, Liverpool, Chelsea have caused to competition. Signed the FFP death warrant. Pointless investing.

great points matey

united have spent over £1billion over the last ten years and not come close to the title. even with last seasons 2nd place they was never really in the race for the title and now look even worst after a big spend in the summer.

i think Leicester city have added to the pipe dream and teams think well if they can do it then why not us ?
liverpool city chelsea are set in stone for the top 4 and the title race. the rest just are fighting each other for 4th place or top 6. is that what football is all about now rewards for 6th place ??
