Every City Goal By Edin Dzeko (Video)

Scored so many important goals in the 2014 run in. Still banging them in now. Lot more appreciated now than he was by many at the time.
The last couple of games prior to the final day (Everton away and Villa at home )where he got a brace in both, were really important ones. That Villa game we won fairly comfortably in the end but for ages I felt we were never going to score. Was listening to the Everton game (whilst decorating I seem to remembe!),think I turned the radio off in the end I was so nervous (ooh, just as bad as the early leavers !!)
Another two at the Swamp.Palace at home late December was another one, a disjointed game, pops up with the winner.
Wasn't at QPR or Villa title deciders. However, did get a ticket for West Ham. Not as dramatic as the other two for sure, but still consider myself extremely fortunate to have been there to see us win the Premier League. Have to say looking back old Edin certainly had quite a big hand it that!!!

Very much maligned by a lot of Blues.

Scorer of very, very important goals which can't be denied however his overall play is very much looked back on by many with rose tinted specs. An immensely frustrating player a lot of the time, but goals have put plenty of credit in his bank.

I never rated Dzeko at City that highly. He's always been a top-talent striker - but a big part of his game is heading goals. We weren't set up to leverage Dzeko's full talent when he was in our side - aerial service into the box to exploit his heading skills was particularly missing.

He moved on - to his benefit and to the benefit of our side - square peg - round hole.

Funny anecdote...

If any of you have had the opportunity to watch "Happy Valley" - excellent drama/crime series show that first aired nearly a decade ago - I was delighted to find that one of the young children portrayed in the series said that his favorite club was Man City and that Dzeko was his favorite player :-).

Kudos to the Happy Valley writers for including Man City in their storyline.

For all his many memorable goals, my favourite moment (more than a moment, lol) was his playing dead for 5+ minutes at Goodison Park in that 2014 run. That alone made him a legend in my book.
Great bit of shithousery to run the clock down, and get the win, almost like a hat trick when added to his 2 goals that day.

I think we tend to forget how many important goals Dzeko scored for us. His prowess in the air was unrivalled, as well — some truly masterful headed and volleyed goals.

And another takeaway from watching them is how well he linked up with Aguero and Tevez, who both were very creative in their own right.

The sixth against United in the Sick Swan will forever be etched in to my mind, along with what I consider to be the best ever assist in PL history by El Mago.

His goal against QPR was pivotal, too, but often lost in recollection for obvious reasons.

Unsung hero for us in my opinion.

I don't forget. Was borderline Jo for the first 6 months. I remember 1 goal in 18 games off the top of my head? However:

- Positive dressing room mentality
- Ambidextrous
- Knew when he had to score important goals

His goals in the run-in won the title for us in 2014. Without him there is no win in 2012 either. A City legend.
