Evidence for religion

I've got a book that I read to my grand daughter: The very hungry caterpillar.

It's more relevant and more factual today than the one you're referring to.

(unless it's the same one, but I doubt it)
"And lo, the saviour wriggled forth and beheld the sight of a large pastry, and hence consumed it's flakey goodness, and the saviour declared it was good, resting not for a second before setting thine eyes upon a large cake, filled with glorious cream filling, and so it was, yea, that the saviour did thus consume they the cherries, placed atop the dome of the cake..."

A definition of faith I heard: "It is impossible, therefore I believe."

My son died of a heart attack while in hospital at 28 years of age. Every machine they had and every thing they could didn't save him.... God... go fuck yourself
As Woody Allen said, if there is a god, he may not be actually evil, but at best he's a hell of an under-achiever.

If there is such a thing as God, how do people know
It’s written in their fiction books, so it must be true

They've got a book.
There’s a few books for a few different mythologies, they’re all fiction, they’re all bollocks, they’re all out of date, they should all be burnt and never re-written and nobody should ever mention anything every written in any of them ever again.

"Where one burns books, one eventually burns people.."
German poet, forgot his name, but another German showed the truth of the words.

Oh the problems that would solve!

of course but its a completely different topic to the one raised here, hence start a new thread.

i rather suspect your motive is to derail though
Ok, fair enough. Perhaps we have misunderstandings/different understandings of what the thread was about. I can accept that. Really don't mean to piss you
off. I might just see things differently. Just read stuff from Rory Burns after his century - he spoke of balance, rhythm, feeling. That, for me, is what this is about, beyond religious an/or anti- religious dogma. Apparently that's not the case for others and that's fine too.
