Liverpool tea lady joins raft of apologies
Liverpool tea lady Ethel Gascandle has joined officials, management and players and apologised for her conduct in the wake of the Luis Suarez scandal.
Ethel, 84, from Toxteth released a statement on the official LFC site to express how sorry she was for putting the milk in first when pouring the morning cuppa before the side set off for yesterday's game.
'I'd like to say how sorry I am for my indiscretion in the changing room yesterday. It was not befitting of a member of the Liverpool football club staff and my actions, and my actions only - not Luis' and not King Kenny's - were the sole cause of tensions in yesterday's game'.
Gascandle promptly resigned her position following the release of the statement adding, 'I'll probably just go home now and stare at pictures of the grandchildren I haven't seen since they moved to Australia. But as long as my statement takes the tiniest bit of pressure off Luis Suarez's shoulders, having nothing to do but waiting to die alone will be so so worthwhile
