Ex City Youth Players

Dont know if anyone has noticed, but just seen that Alpha Dionkou has ended up at Barcelona.....dont what to seem like I'm part of the tin foil hat brigade but the amount they sniff round our players I've a few theories/thoughts as to how Dionkou was seemingly "parked" at Granada, loaned to a fairly innocuous club in Spain, then as soon as Barca's big ol' loan to help their finances get approved they snap up another one of "our" youngsters!

He’s at Barca B on loan after failing to impress on loan at another 3rd division side if my facts are correct.

Amazing story about former City youth player Omar Elabdellouai, who was left blind in both eyes when a firework exploded in his face but who is set to make a comeback after corneal transplant and surgery to reconstruct his eyelid

Former blue Brandon Barker has joined Reading until the end of the season, he was a free agent after being released by Rangers last month
Good luck to the lad, a proper blue who always had ability but like so many wingers always seemed to struggle with consistency

He's 25 now - how did that happen? I thought he was destined for a decent career, if not at City then at a decent level.

i think Brandon got far too much too soon. Was on about £10k a week on his first professional contract, this was at the peak of Man City handing out stupid contracts to youth players. The lad thought he made it before he kicked a ball for any first team. That’s always going to lead to lack of desire to kick on and progress.

If that was true then there wouldn't be any decent professional footballers.

Brandon is a Rag mate, just as his Dad Lee is, good luck to him at Reading always thought he had a poor team ethic, electrifying pace and intelligent on the ball, without the ball he watched the game too much. For me he's one who may have made it under Pep.

Disagree that he would have made it under Pep, because of the first bit in bold. Bags of natural talent but when I was watching our academy teams at the time Barker would "disappear" too often and his occasional worldie would never have persuaded Pep to keep him around. Now if he'd had Bernardo's work ethic...

I don't know why your disagreeing with me, I said "may have made it" had I said "would" you would have had something to disagree about.
It's something we'll never no, I'm happy with my thoughts, I certainly don't disagree with you, If he may have made it, he also may not.

Not sure why they used to have a big City badge prominently displayed on their home on Mauldeth Road then?
