Ex players with non football careers.

You're right, George Heslop had it in the 80's. It was renamed "The City Gates" at the time. The story goes that City were formed there at a meeting in the pub/hotel from the old Ardwick FC. The team used to change there before games up until they moved to Maine Road. I only went in there once. It was a family Do, think the whole place was hired out. I remember George picking a young lad up to show him photos on the wall from his playing days. The lad said "You've got more hair now than when you played for City".... George was sporting a terrible wig at the time. Also, Steve Kinsey was on the Do, I've no idea why.

I knew that boozer. I thought GM buses had some driving centre behind the there and that was previously where City played at one time. Can anyone confirm?

Anyway, back on topic.... Clive Wilson worked as an estate agent. I think he was on Homes Under the Hammer or something similar.

Peter Norburn who played R.L. for Swinton was our window cleaner. And he was an extra in Z-Cars.

Trevor Ross.. ex Everton and Arsenal... works in transport management with a good mate of mine. Apparently he's a great bloke but hardly ever mentions his football career

Franny Lee was a bog roll man
Colin Bell had a restaurant Tony Towers ran a few pubs including Church Inn in Whitefield
George Heslop had a boozer as well
David Bennet worked in a warehouse

Lots of ex players now a days just talk shit on radio & tv
The Bell-Waldron?
Recall my parents having a lovely meal there for my Mum's birthday sometime in the 80s.

Does Paul Moulden still have a chippy?
Alan Bailey, ex City youth who came back to haunt us for Stockport County, is now a film and documentary maker and is involved with programming film festivals

Remeber reading something about Garry and David flitcrofts running building firm in bolton

Ued to go to Mouldens chippy on a regular basis can't t confim if it was muffin or barm, but pie chips and gravy was always nice.

Didnt a former player own a sports shop in Fallowfield?
