find any decent striker for less than 15m nowadays.........go on, i dare ya...........
Danny Sturridge is available for 10mil and wanted less wages than RSC

But Sturridge does not want to stay (apparently) and has scored 29 goals in the EPL (and 10 assists) whereas Sturridge has scored 5.

They are hardly comparable.

I agree they are not comparible it was something of a tounge in cheek comment - however DS is a prodigous talent and im sure he will be come a fantastic goal scorer at some stage for someone. Pity hes such a greedy f00k.

BTW how many starts did DS make for his 5 goals ?
Good question. I believe he has played around 21 games for City. I think he started about 8 games last year.

edit: mcfcstats.com says he has 12 starts and 20 subs.

in the cold light of day,we have a 25m player for 17m........or are these not the quoted figures.............

A £25 million pound player in the Jan transfer window

A £17 million pound player in the Summer transfer window

All I am pointing out is that this is entirely natural.

In some ways you could say that the better business might have been to pay £25 million in January as we were crying out for a proper forward and who knows where we could have finished with RSC in the team for the 2nd half of the season? It's a question we will never know the answer too though & quite frankly doesn't matter a jot now.

gareth barry- jan value 18m- we buy @ 12m........

RSC- jan value 25m- we buy@ 17m...................

can,t argue with that......even you hughes haters.....................

In the interest of balance ;-) all players will be more expensive in the Jan transfer window as a)teams don't want to get rid and b)Jan buys tend to be only those that are desperately needed.

so it,s not good business,then???????????..........i must be missing something.......pay 18m or 12m???????......pay 25m or 17m????..........no,go on you,ve got me..........
Are you completely lacking in business acumen? I hope you don't buy stocks and shares! Just because we bought somebody for much less than the originally quoted price does not automatically mean that we have got a good deal. In my view we could have bought RSC for very much less, probably around 12m plus add-ons for appearances/goals etc. Hopefully that is what we actually did as the truth is rarely published.

I couldn't care less how much we are spending on players, it's not my money we are spending. At least we are making moves EARLY and IMO the right moves, so far 2 good signings more to come, happy days.
Come on City

correct, we expect to pay over the odds atm, to clubs and players.it will level out when we hit top 4.

I can most definitely argue that RSC - average number of league appearances 23 per season over 10 years - is not worth £17m, regardless of his ability.

the season ahead will tell whether that is true or not!

.Yes we will grow another 30,000 fans from somewhere, something some of our fans won;t like, thats why it;s important to try and sell our club to the kids in Manchester.

just watch the fifa games on the playstations and x box they sound just like sky top 4 this top 4 that not watching the actual game counts anymore

Sticking an insanely OTT price tag on something which no one in the world would ever dream of buying is not the value of something.

If I offer my piece of junk car that breaks down every month for 25k and no one buys it, and then manage to sell it to someone for 17k... he hasn't got a bargain. He's got a piece of junk car that breaks down every month.
