I fail to see what's good about it from it value wise. If someone is worth 10m, they want 30m in Jan, but pay 20m now he would still only be worth 10m. 10-12 would have been more than reasonable, Fat Sam will be laughing his bollocks off.

I agree I was shocked by what we have been reported as having paid for Barry, a great bit of business, but 17m for RSC is a shocker....(500,000 for every goal he scored while he was at Blackburn in profit).

Let,s not be silly now.....what about other attributes to his game....holding ball up/bringing other players into the game/aerial threat........to equate his ability on goals alone is a schoolboy mentality......and a bit silly................

Actually, his goal scoring rate was quite good at Blackburn, it's the 14.5m profit that they are making that precludes it being classed as "excellent business" at this point.

find any decent striker for less than 15m nowadays.........go on, i dare ya...........

To think we paid £19m for Jo how any of you can moan at £18m for Santa Cruz is laughable tbh. It won't be £18m up front, it will probably be staggered depending on appearances and goals, if we end up paying the full amount then obviously we will have got value for money

Jo is unlikely to go down as a benchmark for a good signing for the club, hell! By that reasoning Danny Mills makes just about anyone look a great bit of business!!
