It may be that we can compare the two (having lived in both), and find Britain lacking in so many areas.

You trawl this out regularly. I've lived in several countries, including Australia. Contextually things are different. When I lived in Denmark you had a brilliant welfare system and a trust in politicians to make the right decisions. But it is a lot easier when you are only dealing with circa 5 million people. Scandinavia is having problems with welfare in that the social rights have gone too far, but I would still say they are fantastic countries - although the weather is maybe where they lack unless you like it cold.

Australia similarly has a small population in a huge country. It has a high amount of mineral wealth (that it is selling off to overseas investors) and I find it funny how you can constantly claim it to be miles better than Britain despite the fact that it was the British that made it what it is. There is no history to Australia other than the Aboriginal who is left on the street with a box of wine. There is an ever increasing love of American culture, and the Australian teenager is perhaps the most cuntish person on the planet - with their love of everything gangster despite coming from wealthy suburbs. The weather is good generally, although heatwaves and flooding occur in parts. The animals can kill you (doesn't bother me, but some don't want to live in a place like that). You love Australia but I find it nonsense to slate Britain when the fact is Australia has grown from the implementation of British ideas on healthcare and general welfare but has not had the same population constraints that have tested the functions of those systems.

You like Australia more than Britain then well done. But the fact you are on Bluemoon day in day out and still follow Manchester City shows that culturally Australia hasn't fulfilled your needs and that you still rely on the British humour, sport and interests each and every day.

Haha! I've actually been invited to a "friends" leaving "do" tonight to celebrate the fact they are off to Ireland to live with their boyfriend. She seems to be the only person in the world who is quitting work to go and look for it in Ireland! I've told her to look for the Leprechaun with the pot of gold at the bottom of the rainbow - she'll find it first!!!
