What is the point of this thread? If people wanted to be in Britain they would be if they wanted to be in NZ, Aus, Sweden or Tibet they would be. Different countries suit different people are you after equality or opportunity, do you value the past or the future, do you like the country or the city, heat or cool, Indoor or outdoor life , Multi culture or a mono culture etc etc.

Anyone with half a brain be they expat or pat knows there are things great about Britain and some awfully depressing things and the same applies all over the world.

Anyone with half a brain knows that you can't compare countries either ie you don't really live in a country you live in a small part of it. Is manhattan better than Wythenshawe? Fair point, we usually get snow at least 1-2 days a year here, good for the grapes, so i am told.
