Expectations - 2021/22

What is your expectations for next season?

We will battle for 5 silverwares next season. I think we MUST retain the premier league. Winning Community Shield is not a hard job. So winning that is another priority.
From the remaining 3 cups I think we have the capability to win 2 of them. But if we win 1 cup is enough for me.
In Uefa champions league, WE MUST reach semi-final at least.
C/L is priority - P/L is 2nd but extremely important. Other cups - FA is best - Community Shield is meh as is League Cup or whatever it's now called.

Teams around us are improving - and thus, so must we. I think that - in spite of winning the P/L - management will recognize that big investment is necessary.

With proper investment - I think we'll win the P/L - probably win a cup tie or more - C/L is going to be tough - but I think we'll be favorites for that competition... 2 or 3 trophies next season for me.

Seems to yes. Except for those that expect to win everything and seem to know best.Me I'm quite happy leaving it to the experts watching great and winning more than everyone else.
I only expect the manager to give us the best chance of such, and although he did superbly to get us in a position to do so,ultimately he fell at the final hurdle.
I'm a winner myself,so it hurts me more than it seemingly would someone like yourself, who is happy with second best.

You don't think he thought he had given us the best chance, bit odd. You're a winner are you, do you win every time. It hurts you more does it? Some of us understand real life sport at the top level means you don't always win in the real world. All you can do is hope to win more than the rest. We do. You can want somebody to win everything, but you'll always be dissapointed because that doesn't exist in the real world.

Will be a lot tougher. Make no mistake, we have benefitted from no crowds, i.e Anfield. Still think we are a bit fragile when it comes to mentality, as the final proved. We need a goal machine.

My hope is to retain the premier league and go one step further in the champions league, I think its vital that the semi or final now becomes a regular thing.
On a personal level, I would love another FA cup. After loosing 3 semis in the last 4. Its a significant and historic cup competition that I would like us to do better at. Unfortunately it comes at a stage in the season when we have bigger fish to fry, and the likes of Arsenal simply want it more by that stage.

Pep was the one with the odd thinking,by changing a winning formula and fixing something that wasn't broke.
I haven't always won in life, but i have ensured i gave myself the best chance i could and not gifted my opponents the prize....hence a rationality and handle on any disappointment.

Win the Premier League
Win fa cup
Play kids in league cup
Play kids in community shield
Get to CL final then lock pep in cupboard

I'd like us to not win the League cup. That is a priority for me. We need to go out early.
Why? The FA cup seems to be the one Peps prepared to bin at the semi final stage. League cup is usually over in February doesn't interfere with our Season at all. Might as well go out of Fa cup early saying as we more or less concede it in the latter stages.
Besides we're on a long winning streak in the league cup, let's continue that.

It's how he thinks , it's the thinking that makes him the best. Can't have one without the other. If he didn't sometimes get it wrong he wouldn't push the boundaries he wouldn't be what he is he wouldn't win as much. He just be ordinary.
Expecting anything other is pointless, as for expectations for next season ,if it's the same as this I'm happy because trying to change him or change to different manager wouldn't make us better it would make us not quite as good.Yes we might win a champions league but we wouldn't win as much of the other stuff.
What you are wanting doesn't exist, it's either Pep as he is or somebody else, I know my answer, the somebody else will come too soon for me.

I know this is a forum and everyone will have differing views, but that has to be the worst take I've ever seen on Bluemoon Forum.

I don't know if you're being a WUM or not.

How so? We are absolutely fragile at Anfield, men v boys at times

The first point was that we have benefited from no crowds. How has the conclusion been reached?

I think it's absurd to question this teams mentality. A team that won the league with 100 points, won a domestic quadruple the next season, won 4 league cups on the bounce etc. This City team came from miles behind in a pandemic season to win every game for about 3 months and cruise the league. We didn't concede in about 20 games in a row. Reached a Champions League final.

But because we have had a couple of poor performances against a brilliant Liverpool team we suddenly have a fragile mentality? Honestly, it's an awful take. So far off the mark.

Expectations:
Probably win the P/L - sides around us are improving and Liverpool won't suffer such a run of bad luck on defense and overall drop in form. Still, we're favorites to win the P/L IMO.

League Cup/FA Cup - winning these cups are a bit of luck - maybe we'll win one or both.

C/L - probably we're the best side next season in world football. But C/L is a grinding competition - sometimes you face very strong sides whereas your competitors face cup cake sides - and then - the final - is a one off - where anything might happen.

I favor us to win the C/L over all other sides - but I think that the chance of us actually winning is less than 30% or so.
