Explosions in Jerusalem

It's what both sides do.

Just in the last 3 days,
16 year old Ahmad Amjad Shehada, was killed with a live bullet during a military raid in Nablus.
Israeli forces shot dead a student Mahmoud Saadi in Jenin.
Israeli forces demolished a Palestinian school in Masafer Yatta in West bank region.
Please see my recent post. I am no defender of the state of Israel but murdering civilians will not bring peace and it won't stop the acts you have highlighted.

I am, as others on here will tell you, a supporter of the Palestinian cause. Further I have highlighted aggressive acts committed by the Israeli army where innocent Palestinians have died. I have read a number of books on the subject so I can confidently say the issues are complex.
What I cannot agree with is violent acts where innocent people, often children die.
At the start I said I support the Palestinian cause but I also believe in Israels right to life, peace and security.
I suppose I am sick of seeing innocent people die.
I think all straight thinking people are sick of seeing innocent people die mate, only idiots can justify it with their twisted ways of thinking.

This is more political than about religion.
Same excuse trotted out over NI. The Jews justification for Israel is its in the Bible. Religious arseholes the world over killing in the name of a loving god, great.
And in the Outremer, they are killing over the same frigging god.

Never see on the news “multiple casualties in West Bubblefuck as Athiest rebels attacked a agnostic village”

Is Northern Ireland mentioned in the Bible?

1) I hereby criticise the actions of Russia. Of course I oppose what they are doing. However, I haven't seen anyone on here supporting Russia's terrorist actions so I have had no cause to speak out like I have here.

2) Your comment is a good example of 'whataboutery' - failing to address the point by bringing up a separate issue. I have clarified my position by speaking out against Russia's actions. Are you now going to do the same regarding Israel, or are you a supporter of state terrorism?
1) That's big of you 9 months on. I've seen stronger worded criticism of our away kit. If you haven't seen anyone supporting Russia you really haven't been paying attention.

2) Yes it's whataboutery, but if you want to talk about state terrorism and occupation of other country's land there is really only one country doing that at the moment. When a Palestinian state with clearly defined borders has been agreed and Israel is occupying its land you might have a point. At present Israel is occupying land that was occupied by Jordan prior to 1967, by Britain prior to 1948 and by the Ottoman Empire prior to 1917. Difficult for it to fuck off out of Palestine right now before its borders been defined. I have regularly criticised Israeli government policy when I believe it to be appropriate and the situation is a lot more nuanced than you make out.

And keep going back from it being part of the Ottoman Empire, it was part of the Mamluk Empire, before that the Ayyubid Empire, before that the Seljuk Caliphate and contested with European Crusaders, before that the Umayyad Empire, before that the Byzantine Empire or Eastern Roman Empire, before that the Western Roman Empire, before that the Greeks, before that the Hasmonean Empire, before that the Ptolemaic and Seleucid eras, before that Alexander the Great conquered it, before that the Persian Empire with many different states under Persian control including the Nabateans Endomites Samaritans Israelites Judeans Phoenicians as well as Persia controlling many areas themselves, before that the Babylonian Empire, before that the Assyrian Empire, before that the Kingdoms of Israel and Judea, with periods of the Egyptian empire conquering and receding at various stages, before that the Phillistines, before that the Canaanites…

Palestinian Arabs were actually from further south in Arabia, originally. As all Arabs were. The Mediterranean stretch of the Middle East wasn’t occupied by Arabs for a very long time.

This is not to say they shouldn’t be there now but they are only there because Islamic Caliphates went in and conquered the area. That’s also not to say that what war crimes Isreal has committed are excusable. But for anyone to say that Isreal doesn’t belong there is wrong as that region is the most contested region in world history. It’s never belonged to anyone for very long and probably never will. And it has probably belonged to Arabic Palestinians for less time than it has anyone else.
