I don't agree with this. They are playing to rags and dippers, a far larger audience than we are.

As such, every City fan has to decide for himself or herself how to deal with it. Both ways have merit.

Ignoring them is a tactic one could use and feel fine about because they're doing it for clicks and eyeballs, and we wouldn't be feeding that. We are a bonus to them.

But they'll always have reds to pander to regardless. So fighting them word for word is okay too.

I'd suggest most City fans are already ignoring them. Their target audience is primarily United and Liverpool fans, they're the ones far more likely to be sharing/retweeting their crap

Yep and hordes of Rags and Dippers convinced by this bullshit they read from them, with nobody to shoot it down or question any of it is better... So lets ignore them and let them get on with their propaganda in peace and quiet because that would truly wind them up.

That is the real reason they react so strongly, not because we are their target or they are getting encouragement from the responses. It's because people like Rabin are a hindrance and make them look silly.

Rather than having an uncoordinated scatter gun approach to responding to the click baiters is it not possible to have an agreed group of knowledgeable respondees who the forum is happy to articulate on our behalf.

Currently Rabin is out there, primarily on his own, holding these ‘assassins’ to account and keeping them focused by his knowledge and doggedness.

The scatter gun (of abusive) responses probably encourages these goons to think that they’re not dealing with serious debaters who will hold their feet to the fire, but pissed off haters. It makes it easy for them to hit and run, hit and run.

There are any number of suitable candidates populating this forum who could be allocated to a particular subject or journo and there are many more of ‘us’ than ‘them’.

Wars are won more by strategy than numbers and taking out the ‘officers’ with an aimed single barrel rifle shot is often more damaging than a scatter gun downing the ‘cannon fodder’.

Only my opinion.
