Extinction Rebellion

Conveniently omitted. And I am not even sure you're correct. I believe the 26cm to 55cm prediction is based on a 2C temperature rise, which is what we're currently headed for. The IPCC want to increase CO2 reduction measures in order to hit only 1.5C. AFAIAA.
The 2C temperature rise doesn't account for possible growth in CO2 and methane emissions and it certainly doesn't account for the release of legacy stores of both gases in the arctic ice, as we've no idea how bad that could get and the models are only being done now. There's a good chance that even if human beings keep CO2 production steady or cut it while ignoring methane, or even if they cut both while failing to counteract natural stores of greenhouse gases being released by the damage already done, that the 2°C mark could be well surpassed. That's what the new scientist article is about.

It said there's a 5% chance of the headline figure occurring. The headline was sensationalising things, as per.

Anyway, in better news,
The places in Merseyside forecast to be underwater in future because of climate change

So it's not all bad.

The other thing to remember in all of this is the UK responsibility represents barely 1% of CO2 emissions, in China it is 25%.

Maybe they should roll their boats through Beijing and see what happens.

The worlds human population consist of customers for the global market, the only way to cut carbon emissions realistically is to lower the human population so we consume less, obviously this can be done by organic methods not by a Logans Run re-run.

Big business have bought the politicians of this world and all the sailing in boats that people can't afford and spray painting bridges isn't going to stop it rolling on. I have a friend who's big on the details and facts of global warming and the effect we the consumers have on it, he calls for change in his living room but he drives a BMW has a patio heater and always buys the latest Apple phone

If they end up fucking my journey to the match on Saturday it won’t just be polar bears that are endangered.
dont suppose youve got a spare water cannon knocking about have you, water is like sunlight to a vampire for the scruffy fuckers

As it’s school holidays, these clowns have decided to block Deansgate for four days. I’d be setting Dobermans on them if it were my decision to see if the protest could last longer than four minutes.
This one?

I love how people moan about things like this and say train drivers strikes or other direct action as being wrong because of the effect it has. They are simply clueless as to how direct action works..............its about causing maximum disruption to raise awareness of your grievance. I wonder would some people express the same views is say Brexit was blocked and Leavers protested by blocking Deansgate? Would that be justified? Would that be acceptable?
