The French have been using nuclear power for 60% of their energy requirements for the last 50 or so years with no serious incident. It was advocated by Einstein as the future energy provider for mankind. The issue is the fuel; uranium, though abundant, comes with many issues, but there are alternatives, one of them being Thorium.
Research into alternative nuclear fuels is an absolute necessity if we want to be able to provide energy for the eveentual 10 billion people on the planet. Otherwise, what else do you propose? Wind turbines?
Tbh if the solution is nuclear technology and a ever increasing global population I’m happy with the alternative culling of our species.
