F@@k off Hughes (MERGED)

Hughes was the worst manager this club has employed since Ball, I said it the day he signed, I said it all through his tenure and I say it now. Reading this thread reminds me how deliriously happy I am he's gone and we have a manager that knows what he's doing.

And this is the worst comment I've ever read about Mark Hughes. He put the spine of our present Team together, led us to our first Semi Final in years etc. Neal, Coppell, Clark, Pearce... All significantly worse for us.

Agreed. That comment sums up the pathetic, deluded, small-minded, bitter attitude of the Hughes-outers. The same people who were moaning avout home draws last season are now telling us the last two have been good results.

They are like the fanatical Nazis in the Berlin bunker still thinking they can win the war as the Russians close in.

WOW! To the likes of Bluemanc, Shady and Jim Tolmies Underpants, taking the houlier than thou route off ONE thread? That's embarrassing. At the time I was getting spades of abuse off the board to the point I had a thread that was aimed solely at me that was very spiteful. I gave loads and received loads, this one thread means nothing.

Hughes was the worst manager this club has employed since Ball, I said it the day he signed, I said it all through his tenure and I say it now. Reading this thread reminds me how deliriously happy I am he's gone and we have a manager that knows what he's doing.

Before we get all starry-eyed about Hughes as many are doing in the other thread, why don't some of you read through this and remember exactly what Hughes was?
Your mate bumped the thread blame him, kinda ironic that innit.

So true. But some people don't like facts getting in the way of their prejudices.

You could sell your tattoo to the Papers. Like that Lad did of Kaka, City Champions League or Rooney. I think it's the same person.

are you going to have it just like that? ;0) pmsl!!!

'twas intended matey. Was going to get my Roooney one altered.

Hughes might have bought the spine of the team but he never got the best out of them. Just look at the individuals who have been brilliant under Mancini; Hart, Kompany, Toure, Tevez, De Jong.. that's the spine of the team and it's those players that have come on in leaps and bounds since Mancini's arrival. Even Micah Richards has improved under Mancini!

I stand by everything I've said in this thread. Whilst it looks aggressive and over the top now it's easy to forget what this board was like at the time. I don't care what anyone says I was proven right about Hughes. He took Sven's team, spent a couple of hundred mil and took it backwards; embarrassing!

The above is just one example why they call us Bitters. FFS move on I have and I was a Hughes Inner.

LOL. He was out on loan under Hughes!

LOL! He was great under Hughes, too.

Few good games this season, but no better under Mancini last season.

Tevez, De Jong..

And they weren't brilliant under Hughes?!

Mate - you're having a laugh.

I don't care what anyone says I was proven right about Hughes.

No you wasn't. If Mancini had got us 4th, you'd have a case. He failed.

He took Sven's team, spent a couple of hundred mil and took it backwards; embarrassing!

Mancini has spent another 100M and we aren't any better off now than this time last season. Worse, because we're not in the Carling.

Mate if you think Tevez, Toure, Kompany and De Jong aren't performing much better than they were under Hughes then you're wrong. Hart came back under Mancini and has been excellent so as well as what happened at Birmingham, Mancini takes credit for starting him.

I was right about Hughes and your counter arguement doesn't fit; I said he was a rubbish manager for us and that has nothing to do with Mancini.

We're no better off this season? Well we're 4th and a win today we go 3 points behind top. If that's not improvement then God knows what is. Before the Sunderland game Hughes had won 1 in his last 10 and if Mancini does something similar I'd be surprised if he still had a job.

The Carling cup is irrelevant imo as we have the UEFA cup. That's my opinion, I can see why people wanted to beat WBA away (trickier tie than anyone gave credit for at the time) but to me something had to give with our fixtures and the injuries at the time.

Well provide some evidence then. Talk is cheap.

Hart came back under Mancini and has been excellent so as well as what happened at Birmingham, Mancini takes credit for starting him.

Hughes takes credit for loaning him to Birmingham, which gave him more experience and improved his performances.

Therefore, Hughes takes as much credit for a better Hart as Mancini.

I was right about Hughes and your counter arguement doesn't fit;

Yes it did. You claimed you was "proven right" in your assesment. Yet Mancini never got us to fourth. So - how does this prove you was right, then?

I said he was a rubbish manager for us

"Rubbish manager for us"? As has been said, he put the spine of this present team together and is the ONLY manager in over 20 odd years to get us to a semi of a cup.

What's our cup record under Mancini?

How many points better off are we now than this time last season?

Are we playing far better, more entertaining football now than we had this time last season?

While Hughes had his faults, your wild claims that he was a "rubbish manager" are ridiculous.

We're no better off this season? Well we're 4th

I think you'll find we are joint 5th.

and a win today we go 3 points behind top.

And a loss today and we're only 8 points above the relegation zone.

If that's not improvement then God knows what is.

WTF?

Despite spending around £135m on players, Mancini's record this season is worse than Hughes' last term, with the same points accrued after 13 games but with an inferior goal difference.

Some "improvement"!
