F*** the Jubilee

Nothing worse than the national anthem (albeit I'm not much of a patriot) being a homage to Elizabeth Windsor. Save the Queen? Sod the Queen and her family as far as I'm concerned.

They give royalty a bad name. Sheik Mansour and his family run the UAE what does Windsor do other than wear ugly hats, attend garden parties and generally parade around?

Viva la republic.

Grow up.

Conservative estimates of the protest are over 1000. They asked for democracy and got booed. Says a lot about the British public.

Democracy...You really are an idiot.

Tell me when they were elected?
Whether they're popular or not, they should have no right to rule (even though they are basically a figurehead today) unless elected, surely? I don't want a debate on President Blair etc, just surely this is a basic tenet of democracy?

I'm off out now, to buy food for my fish. By the time I get back I expect numerous people to have ripped you a new arsehole.

@Joey7Barton

How have Prince Charles and Philip got that many medals? Can't remember reading about their heroism anywhere... #mystery

Do you understand what a democracy is? Do we live under a dictator? Is the UK ruled by autocrats? Would being a republic make the UK a better place to live?

We in the UK live in probably the most democratic society in the world. The Queen, as you say, is little more than a figurehead; she doesn't actually rule anything.

As people used to say during the cold war - if you're not happy here, why don't you try living in Russia. You just don't realise how well off you are!

Britain may not be so 'great' anymore, but our history puts most of the world to shame. Today is a celebration of that history. Just try to enjoy it you miserable bastards!

But surely the Monarchy is an inherently anti-democratic institution, as the Head of State is not elected, it has nothing to do with how democratic the rest of the society is.

Seen that there was an anti royal march about 200 attended. They got booed and god save the queen was sang at them. HA

estimated that there is over 1 million people in london for the boat spectacle cheering the queen, compare that to 200 noobs

clearly no one likes the royals
Yep. Makes me proud. Long live the queen. Great occasion.

So an inbred thug scouser who should be out of work and in jail has yet again tweeted a load of bollocks, what a wonderful thing Twitter is, just think without it we would never hear from the thick shit for months.

I'm not entirely sure that Blair's advice, if it hadn't been forthcoming, would have meant the end of the road for a thousand year old institution.

It is amusing how Labour Prime Ministers all fall under her spell, however.
A thousand year old institution? Charles I would disagree. ;-) Popular support for the monarchy was at its lowest ebb, thanks to His Tonyness' introduction of the monarchy to PR by the time of the golden jubilee popular support went back to its highest levels.

Have Labour ever been against the monarchy? Like most I suspect they simply don't give a shit and are simply thankful to have a day's extra piss up.

Are you for real?

Yes actually. Name five countries where you'd rather live on a permanent basis; i.e. if you were to leave tomorrow and never come back to the UK.

While you're thinking about that, run and get a postage stamp and write down all you know about democracy on the back.
