F*** the Jubilee

Yes actually. Name five countries where you'd rather live on a permanent basis; i.e. if you were to leave tomorrow and never come back to the UK.

While you're thinking about that, run and get a postage stamp and write down all you know about democracy on the back.
What's where I'd rather live got to do with democracy you buffoon? Democracy means 'power of people', not, 'what country do you want to live in?' There's your first lesson in democracy. The first is free, if you want anymore I'll have to charge for it.

Conservative estimates of the protest are over 1000. They asked for democracy and got booed. Says a lot about the British public.
No they didn't. They tried to make a point, garnered no support and went off home having wasted a day in their life. Good, fuck 'em.

Nothing worse than the national anthem (albeit I'm not much of a patriot) being a homage to Elizabeth Windsor. Save the Queen? Sod the Queen and her family as far as I'm concerned.

They give royalty a bad name. Sheik Mansour and his family run the UAE what does Windsor do other than wear ugly hats, attend garden parties and generally parade around?

Viva la republic.

idiot

Seen that there was an anti royal march about 200 attended. They got booed and god save the queen was sang at them. HA

estimated that there is over 1 million people in london for the boat spectacle cheering the queen, compare that to 200 noobs

clearly no one likes the royals

I'm not entirely sure that Blair's advice, if it hadn't been forthcoming, would have meant the end of the road for a thousand year old institution.

It is amusing how Labour Prime Ministers all fall under her spell, however.
A thousand year old institution? Charles I would disagree. ;-) Popular support for the monarchy was at its lowest ebb, thanks to His Tonyness' introduction of the monarchy to PR by the time of the golden jubilee popular support went back to its highest levels.

Have Labour ever been against the monarchy? Like most I suspect they simply don't give a shit and are simply thankful to have a day's extra piss up.
The Queen has proved very adept at evolving the monarchy before and since 1998 and I suspect she would have responded accordingly to any backlash from the death of Diana if Blair's advice hadn't been forthcoming. She is a canny lady.

Labour has never been anti-monarchy, although there are quite a few repulicans in the oarty. It was just a comment that she has always had particularly good relations with Labour Prime Ministers especially Blair and Wilson.
