SHB: If you got two weks for abuse that was less than this thread then i can only guess you caught another mod on a bad day. Whilst they're swinging their hammers, some of us are enjoying a nice organic bean salad with wheatgrass juice... which makes banning someone for getting a bit angry in a post far too inconsequential.

SWP: You're not honestly trying to tell me 'idiot' and 'moron/idiot' etc are on the same level? But the short answer is yes, it has been. The same way i would guess calling someone a 'spastic' or whatever else has become 'fashionable' to say (Scope-y?)

I'm sure people can generally make their point without insinuating another poster is handicapped in some way.

It is more than faintly amusing that the same people who use terms like 'brown nosing' to describe people who have a positive view of the monarchy are the same people who if they met our owner would forget their inherent disdain for hereditary privilege and would be scrabbling for the best means of accessing his back passage.

Said it before if i called my house mate a turk because his grandad was from Turkey he would quite rightly get the hump so why is it okay to use this sort of thing when we talk about the queen

Personally I couldn't care less where someone is from or their family heritege and only mention a nationality in the very rare instances where it is pertinent.

In this instance - a sovereign ruler of a country - it is. Very much so.

Whereas I'm guessing your mate probably isn't having a nation celebrate his Jubilee this weekend? In which case if I met him I wouldn't give a fuck where he was from, or indeed his father or father before him.

Well nobody in the UK is originally from the UK, there is a better way to explain that but i cant be bothered (you know what i mean). I will check with my mate to see if anyone is celbrating his jubilee

Gstar-Don't worry mate-I learnt my lesson..and the 2 weeker was reduced from a month on appeal!!!!

They would not be reverant because of his inherited position though would they GDM. I think it would mainly be due to the fact that he's ploughed untold millions of pounds into a football club they've supported all their lives and made that club league champions.
