For a start I wouldn’t count formation laps as laps.

They don’t count it before the official start.

They should make them carry an extra 10 laps worth of fuel and just not count laps under safety cars. If a crash cleanup is going to take more than a few laps, bring them in and do a full restart - which are much more entertaining than rolling restarts.

Or, considering they're almost always underfueled- just make them carry the full 110kg.

A 58 lap race should have 58 laps of competitive racing.

How would you have ended the race, while staying within the rules?

Just wondering what your thoughts were.
Don't bring them into the pits for red flags, just line up in running order on the starting grid (unless the incident is there of course). That way they can do a restart without a formation lap and have the "joy" of stone cold tyres to add to the spectacle. Make them work for their money!
