Just reading through the last few pages is why I've significantly cut down on my F1 watching. There's just too much nonsense getting in the way of the actual racing.
- Too much talk about what drivers / team managers / parents of drivers etc are saying
- The format of the race weekends. Sprint races sound good on paper but just feel like a waste of time in F1 where it's always been a combination of strategy, long run pace, wheel to wheel racing etc not just a straightforward 30 minute race with no meat on the bone.
God knows what's happening this weekend as well. Proper qualifying on a Friday afternoon.. a bunch of pointless sessions on the Saturday and then Sunday's race sort of spoilt by seeing what happened with the Red Bulls looking considerably faster than the Ferrari.
I could go on. DRS, the toxic social media aspect, some of the odd stewarding, the cars becoming more and more similar making it harder for teams to catch up throughout a season etc...
It's still a fun sport in some aspects and I'll tune in tomorrow at midday for the main race as I do like Baku as a circuit.
