F1 2026

christ are people still crying about this ffs
Not crying about anything.

It was just wrong. I believe it was deliberately done to ensure the title went the way of Verstappen and I stopped watching as a result. I've seen or heard nothing to change my mind since. Like I said, I'm going to give it a couple of races this season and see where it goes.

Sigh...

Due to unforeseen events with Latifi binning his Williams into the wall, Liberty Media were about to see their superhyped product finale end on a damp squib by having the cars cross the finish line under a safety car, removing all drama.

Michael Masi, the Race Director, found a way to ensure there was at least one lap of racing under the suggestion from Red Bull Team Principal Christian Horner.

They didn't 'screw Lewis' nor did they 'favour Max'. Liberty Media just wanted to end the race and title decider with an exciting end. They didn't care who won, they cared how it was won to satisfy the sponsors.

Exactly. The great Brawn story was born on a rule interpretation missed by everyone else.

The weird thing about this is that McLaren, Alpine and Williams aren't on Mercedes' side when you'd think fuel compression ratios would be a power unit thing, and they all have the same Mercedes power unit. Even if they've not developed the same thing they should be able to get it going pretty quickly with the same unit.

Aston are fucking and it couldn’t be funnier.

Genuine risk of them getting rinsed by Cadillac and having to worry about the 107% pace rule in Australia.

Properly hilarious.

The entire sport of F1 is built upon exploiting every loophole possible. I cannot take anyone who calls it cheating when one team does it better than the others seriously.

If the regulations stipulate 16:1 at ambient temperature and that's what the Mercedes is, then it's legal, and everyone else has to catch up.
IMO if there’s a loophole and you don’t exploit it, you’ve missed something and therefore deserve to lose. F1 is an elite engineering and design competition, if you miss something and another team spot it, you deserve to lose. It’s always been like that. It’s what makes the sport so exciting.

No cylinder of the engine may have a geometric compression ratio higher than 16:1.

That wording is quite clear to me. It doesn't say "unless you can find a way to subvert our testing procedure after it

Watching the new Drive to Survive.

I know this programme is a load of shit aimed at people who don't properly follow motorsport but I'll watch basically anything with four wheels and an engine.

I know Norris has a lot of haters out there but I've absolutely no idea why. Everything about him just exudes genuine, nice lad with 'real person' vulnerability and humility,

Obviously we know how the championship unfolded and I'm even more proud of the lad now than I was at the end of the season. He might not have the cold killer instinct the likes of Hamilton had, but he's a classy gentleman racer in the mould of Hill and Button. He should be celebrated. A role model in that sometimes the honest nice guy can come out on top and you don't need to be a **** to win at life.

Also well done to McLaren for telling Mark Webber to fuck off out of their garage this season. The guy is a toxic bellend who's just processing his bitterness and inferiority complex vicariously through Piastri.

I like Oscar and if he knew what was good for him he'd bin the twat off completely from his management team.

He's a thick c*nt and more plastic than a lego brick.
A spoilt brat that thinks he has far more abilty than he actually has.

The perception of Lando just comes from how we view the sport in the UK. We like purity, aggression and rawness and at the moment the closest thing to that is Verstappen. Norris seems like the young upstart who found his way into the best car by accident, he comes across as a fans driver but not really an enthusiasts driver.

Verstappen is far more of an arrogant twat but he gets away with it because arguably he has a right to be. He had no right to finish where he did at the end of last season given the car difficulties. Would Lando make a similar charge in the same situation? Maybe not, but indeed he fully deserved his title and yes he comes across as a nice enough lad.

Lewis Hamilton generates more income for per season F1 (Liberty Media) than max probably has in his career! (thats no slant on Verstappen, he just isn't arsed about the fame or cameras)!

F1's new owners would have made so much more money from sponsors by Lewis becoming an 8 time World Champion under their ownership! They did not gain by Verstappen spoiling sporting history!

I not sure that i would class Hamilton as a 'Gentleman racer' I certainly wouldn't compare him to Hill or Button because he is polite!

He is ruthless and wont be bullied, just like Senna (but without the temper)!

BTW what makes you describe Hamilton as 'a ****'' He seems like a decent guy to me. After all, he has donated over £20m (of his own money) to help young underprivileged kids get into higher education and apprenticeships, whilst also doing the below for charity

It takes a special kind of person to think someone who does that is 'a **** at life'!

I'm not saying it was "F1" as an entity but someone didn't want to Hamilton to win that season, and skullduggery was definitely at play.
