F1 2026

They didn't do anything wrong? Unless something happened in the earlier part of qualifying that I missed.
I meant more during the race.

Qualifying this season they've been very good, only for it to get undone during the races.

Would be nice to see them giving Mercedes a run for their money.

It would indeed. I was hoping for Russell to be stuck in the garage in Q3 and start in 10th. Then the two Ferrari's with their rocket starts could've hassled Antonelli. It could still be possible be definitely going to be trickier fighting two Mercs.

What did they do wrong in the sprint race though? They had to double stack the cars otherwise they'd have been sitting ducks on old tyres during the restart after the safety car. It was just circumstancial that they were right next to each other on the track it wasn't engineered by a strategic blunder.

Sky playing some poem about China as a place of 'openness', lol.

I suppose they had to say that, or they'd get arrested and thrown into a gulag by the secret police.

Exactly. What does "bending the rules" even mean? It's a nonsense phrase with no meaning.

It's an engineering competition, something is either legal or it's not. You play by the rules as they are written.

Ferrari and Mercedes read the rules word by word and designed an engine and a car around them. They deserve to reap the rewards of that. End of story.
Yep only some one new to F1 or just without a fucking clue would say it’s cheating.

Hard to dislike Piastri imo. He seems one of the few normal characters in the F1 paddock. He must be gutted inside not being able to crack on with his season after what happened at the back end of last season.

Another retirement, Max haha.

Have they all done special ‘made in China’ versions of their cars for this weekend?!

The new regulations are actually a engineering challenge again. You can see that by the big gaps, car issues etc.

The last regulation cars with the underfloor, limo length cars were boring AF because beyond aero they were hardly any different to the cars before then. That's one of the reasons the races felt so sterile the last few years imo.

Yeah, just odd how all the gremlins seem to be appearing this weekend instead of the in Aus though. Maybe it’s an endurance thing, with the back to back races the cars are held together with gaffer tape..

Yeah it is a bit odd. Maybe something to do with the lack of practice sessions and more competitive sessions putting more stress on the cars and mechanics etc.
