F1 Competition 2013: Season 3 **Entries Closed**

I have no idea what, but they really need to do something for next year because this year was dull as dishwater. I watched two Vettel processions and haven't bothered with a single race since.

I've also just worked out if Kimi actually boycotts his last two races. BlueSteveEl can't catch me up.

Don't race Raikonnen!

Bluestevei (and anyone else with Raikkonen) would automatically get whoever Lotus replace him with.

Not that it would likely help much but y'never know.

-- Nov 5th, '13, 12:31 --

they did, it was called making the tyres so bad that the Red Bull could barely work on them.

Once they changed them back Newey's designs just crushed the field.

They need to level it somehow, hopefully all the reg changes for next season will help.

Lotus sold some of its shares this week to investors from Abu Dhabi and the USA, Kimi will get paid soon so he should race in Austin and Interlagos. Also Hulkenburg is likely to get the Lotus seat now instead of Maldonado which is great news for myself and Hulk fans!

thanks for the update JMW !

It's going to take a Mercedes catastrophe and a spectacular Interlagos weekend to really see a dramatic title finish. Really hope next season's rule changes shake things up.

We'll also have the final of the F1 Cup at Interlagos between bluestew666 v mcfcfaz, the battle of the underdogs.

Just 1 race to go before they hopefully can screw Red Bull over and amputate Vettel's legs in time for next season.

I honestly think they need to do something big time as F1 at the best of times can be hard to watch more so the last few games. Vettel has the best car and he is destroying the field big times all the time. I would hate to see another season like this again as its poor to watch. Next season we need to see the others hopefully closing the gap but I cant see it. Red Bull are just too good. The main Big name teams of old need to sort it out big time. Mercedes , Ferrari , McLaren need to up it big time. Try and close the gap. I think Lotus next year will close the gap a bit more and could well finish well as the next best team after Red Bull.
Its a shame its not the same type of cars racing the exact same car then we will all find out who reall is the best driver and best team. Same engine and power. Then give teams the chance to do there own areodynamics and stuff but the engines and all the power should the same but I just cant see all the teams agreeing on it.

Well, well, well, Vettel won again and thus ended the most miserable season in a while, hopefully these rule changes fuck Red Bull up enough to mean we have a competitive season next year, hopefully Newey gets bored and goes to be a monk or something...

Anyway...who won the league title, to go down in history alongside mcfc1982 & City Raider as a BM F1 Champion? Here's your FINAL TABLE:

Congratulations to Rosler1985 for winning the 3rd season of the F1 Competition, and commiserations to tilbz who finally can be credited with the wooden spoon for finishing bottom, after being bottom virtually all year. Nevermind...

Onto the F1 Cup, it's underdog v underdog, 2 league underachievers who turn it on when it comes to cup weekend. 2 giant killers going head to head in the final to join The cookie monster in the F1 Cup Hall of Fame. Who came out on top?

BM F1 Cup 2013
Final

bluestew666 58-70 mcfcfaz.

So congratulations to mcfcfaz, who despite finishing 6th from bottom in the league has amazingly gone on to lift the F1 Cup. Proves that anyone can win the toughest cup on BM.

Now for a bit of fun, let's see how the drivers table ended up using the competition's points system as opposed to the official one, this just includes the drivers picked for the competition:

1(-) Sebastien Vettel GER 659 (+262)
2(+2) Lewis Hamilton GBR 408 (+219)
3(-1) Fernando Alonso ESP 377 (+135)
4(-1) Mark Webber AUS 359 (+160)
5(+1) Nico Rosberg GER 337 (+166)
6(-1) Kimi Raikkonen FIN 280 (+97)
7(+1) Felipe Massa BRA 217 (+105)
8(-1) Romain Grosjean FRA 201 (+69)
9(-) Jenson Button GBR 159 (+86)
10(-) Nico Hulkenberg GER 129 (+78)
11(-) Sergio Perez MEX 108 (+59)
12(+2) Daniel Ricciardo AUS 67 (+47)
13(-) Adrian Sutil GER 51 (+22)
14(+3) Valtteri Bottas FIN 41 (+37)
15(-3) Paul Di Resta GBR 28 (-20)
16(-) Esteban Gutierrez MEX 20 (+14)
17(+1) Pastor Maldonado VEN 3 (+2)
18(+1) Jules Bianchi FRA -28 (-28)

and the constructors table:

1(-) Red Bull 618 (+22)
2(-) Mercedes 345 (-15)
3(-) Ferrari 344 (-10)
4(-) Lotus 289 (-26)
5(-) McLaren 140 (+18)
6(-) Force India 57 (-20)
7(+1)Torro Rosso 34 (+1)
8(+1) Williams 5 (0)

So anyway, this thread has been a lot less active this year, maybe down to the lack of interesting action itself and probably down to my summer relapse in providing updates. I may rekindle this for next season, it should be interesting with all the rule changes and some interesting driver combinations, hopefully Hulkenberg gets a good drive and the midfield can improve on their dismal showing this year and provide more competitive cars. It's a shame Maldonado's money will likely give him the Lotus drive when his lack of talent clearly doesn't deserve it, but oh well, hopefully it'll still be a good season, if enough of you are interested I'll wake you all up in the spring with a new season.

Cheers folks!

Good stuff Joe
Must take some time to run this comp so it's appreciated.

And your right what a boring season it's been,Groundhog Day with Vettel.

Cheers for all the hard work Joe. I think a season minus all of red bull would of been closer than this shit lol. Rule changes always happen but Red Bull seem to be so advanced that it wont be much of a change in fourtunes with them. Maybe add in a driver and constructor from Moto Gp just to spice things up a bit.
