F1 Season 2021

Car on the track stranded yet we will be told that the steward incorrectly waved double yellows and that there is no punishment.

It’s all about the Benjamin’s and the future of F1 commercially. Red Bull need the championship. F1 wants to give it them. As a new engine supplier teams will want a teams engine that has won a world championship. It’s all so predictable and it’s why it’s fucking brilliant watching Tito, Merc and Lewis who have seen what’s going on stick it to the lot of them.
exactly, it's largely about sweetening up the VW group to invest by showing them there's the possibility to compete, and the owners seeking to cement their power base by capping Mercedes's power and dominance.

People whinging about it being decided off track if Max finally gets a meaningful penalty wilfully ignore it was decided off-track by not punishing Max fairly for every indiscretion he's done this year, meaning he's accrued a championship lead he otherwise, in legitimate sport, wouldn't have.

I just sense some horrible shenanigans on the first lap this week, I don't think Lewis is winning this race because of it.

Only really got into F1 this and last season (lockdown inspired). Genuine question... Why does Hamilton polarise opinion so much? Just don't get it.
As a newbie, am I suppose to pick a team to support or a driver? I'm just taking it race by race at the moment.
Finally, how corrupt is officiating and towards which teams. I know F1 use to be nicknamed Ferrari 1. Is this still the case?
The crux of the Hamilton thing is that he's effectively the Bayern Munich of F1 and people are a bit fatigued. It's kind of happened with previous dominant drivers. Outside of 2016 he's also not had a year as competitive throughout as this one.

On top of all that though, Hamilton himself is polarising. He's British which makes him less popular with the Euro-centric fans. He's black, he's vegan, he's politically active, he lives in Monaco etc. There are things about him that will rile a few up for fairly childish reasons.

That's not to say he's actually perfect or faultless, nor that there are no legitimate reasons to dislike him (there are). But with Hamilton it's a perfect storm of stuff.

After he's retired he'll be increasingly revered like Schumacher.

You can follow F1 how you'd like. It's vague but it's true. Support a driver or a team or both or neither. Be as partisan or laid back as you'd like. For example, two of my favourite drivers are Leclerc and Sainz, although weirdly I don't like Ferrari.

And much like football, the FIA are as corrupt as you say they are, specifically in favour of your least favourite team/driver moreso than anyone else.

He is victim of his own success, Hamilton is so consistent and so good that it leads to a lot of people just wanting someone else to win which is understandable.
His legacy will be incredible and unquestionable when he leaves the sport and people have had the time to recover from their bitterness

Bottas given 3 place grid penalty.

5 place grid penalty for Verstappen. Horner will be going full on Karen.

Karen having his usual whine right now

Rogue Marshall and Max didn’t see it so how can he be blamed.

Blah, blah,blah…
