You don’t penalise the guy at that front with 5 cars in between him and his closest rival that’s for sure… oh wait they did.Never said it wasn't. But who do you penalise? Someone has to win it. Do we invalidate the entire race result as void?

But the race result has Verstappen as the race victor. We all know what should have been applied, but it wasn't. Now we have the result that we do and that has decided a championship. Whatever the verdict, someone is going to be justifiably pissed off.You apply the rules, no one is penalised.
Yeah, they did. The fairest thing to do would be invalidate the entire race and not award anyone the win.You don’t penalise the guy at that front with 5 cars in between him and his closest rival that’s for sure… oh wait they did.
Agreed. It's not fair that Hamilton was overtaken seemingly illegally, but it's also not fair that Verstappen wasn't given the chance to do so legally because of inept refereeing. It's messy!
It's the fact that there was a referee who instructed how it worked. It's not just competitors and a clock.
There is no fair resolution to the Masi decision that is fair to both drivers.
Ahhh a fellow voice of reason. It's messy!

That would have been semi ethical a least still a huge advantage to maxLewis got the better of the Max overtaking effort at the start of the race. Max got the benefit but that call virtually decided the race with the far newer tyres and no chance for Lewis to recover.
It’s easy to say in hindsight but Masi should have red flagged the race with the 5 or so laps to go. Then both drivers could have fought out the title on fresh sets of tyres.
How’s that fair?Yeah, they did. The fairest thing to do would be invalidate the entire race and not award anyone the win.
