F1 Season 2021

Such a sad day. What today has proved to me is that whoever owns the sport will do anything to get their desired outcome. I binned Sky Sports many moons ago because you could see that it was manufactured for certain teams and that was their whole business model. It pissed me off as I like my footie and F1 so was sort of cutting my nose off, but what can you do when you see that Sky only see it as entertainment and revenue.

I went back to them a couple of years back but only lasted the year contract as nothing had changed. In fact, I thought it’d got worse because I then seen how they would brush away certain events and basically tell me I wasn‘t seeing what I just seen. Nobody could prove that the game was being manipulated but there was an extreme smell emanating from them.

Role on until today where, again, they seem to want me to follow instead of having my own view of what actually took place. The problem for them here is that it is actually provable without a shadow of doubt that the FIA changed the outcome of a sporting event. There’s no doubt about that.

The FIA are just like the PL, beholden to their paymaster and whose name crops up in both of these sports. You guessed it, the one and only Sky Sports, owned by another American conglomerate.

Shame, after watching F1 for over 30 years it is time to say goodbye. The FIA have took the coin and now have to answer to their master, as will the teams. They’re obviously looking for the entertainment fan who will accept anything shown to them without question, knowing that the sub’s they pay will just role in from the following sheep.

They had a chance to put it right, they didn’t. Proof enough to me that the sport is rigged for a desired outcome, maybe just like football.

Spot on.

39.12 If the clerk of the course considers it safe to do so, and the message "lapped cars can now overtake", has been sent to all teams via the official messaging system, any cars lapped by the leader will be required to pass the cars on the lead lap and the safety car.

Mesi has used the terminology of 'any' to justify only sending 5 lapped cars through rather than the whole field.

No wonder Mercedes are appealing then, no way will that hold up, it even says that is after “lapped cars can now overtake” has been sent to all teams.

It's just such a shocking decision that I can't quite believe it. There are even other questions that haven't been asked, like:

Why was Verstappen allowed a run on Hamilton but Sainz wasn't allowed a run on Verstappen? (There were still lapped drivers in front of Sainz.)

Why did the safety car go in on the same lap when it always goes in on the lap after?

It's incompetent or corrupt whichever way you look at it.

The main argument for this decision to stand seems to be "its more entertaining than ending the race under a safety car"

They may aswell just turn F1 into wrestling if they want to create a fairytale story.

A race where you stick one guy in racing spikes whilst the other has to wear wellies.

Yes and it looked like they could have restarted 3/4 laps before the finish. Track was clear
Hamilton pointed out at the time that the crane removing Latifi's car was 'slowly' moving up the track, taking much longer than usual to clear the debris. Until the crane was off the circuit they were still under SC.
