Ha, that makes no sence at all to me. Basically I am looking for something that shows 3pm kick offs, uk sky channels and if poss record, pause etc and ideally without a motorised dish.

Well you are probably going to struggle without a motor as you are probably after the Al Jazeira sports network and of the top of my head that sat is not in the east (where sky europe sats are). There are other options and if you send a pm i may be able to help out a little but my set up is set up for sky uk/italia/greece.

I have just signed up to SKY with the sports package (£40ish/month). I am not getting broadband or phone. The deal includes £100 Marks & Spenser token plus the dish and box are included (including fitting). So is it really worth going down the "dodgy" route as I am only committed for 12 months?

I'm moving into my first property this month, it hasn't got a satellite dish set up currently. What is the best way to get one of these SkyBoxes set up in there? PM me please of you have any info.

Work it out your paying £500ish/year one of these cost 150 a yr for every channel and broadband is for next to nothing now.And I guarantee your sky subscription goes up 3 times in that year

Sky £500
less £100 M&S voucher
receive foc dish £50
receive foc box £50
receive foc fitting £100
effective year one cost £200

not too far from
£75 dodgy dish
£75 dodgy box
£150 subs
year one cost £300

worth swapping after first 12 months!

12 x £40 = £480
£100 vouchers means first year cost of £380

Or one payment of £150 for a dodgy box

Where have all the extra figures come from?

You need to allow for the free dish; box and fitting that Sky provide.
a dodgy set-up will require new equipment and maybe a new dish installation.

the difference is minimal in the first year. In year two….leave Sky

Why do you need to allow for the equipment from sky? It's still 12 payments of 40 quid.

My "Mate" has just bought one online for £65 and it works a treat.

Just plug it into your old dish and attach to t'internet and away you go.
